Larry keel just announced he and his band Natural Bridge will be playing the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA with special guest Tony Rice.  Sounds like bluegrass heaven to me!  I may just have to make the trek over.

Funny would be applying super glue to your nuts and putting said nuts on her face.  Talk about "seeing the light" and remaining faithful to the indigo girls manifesto.

There's more airbrush on that shot than on a Peterbilt with a flame job.

Will do.
Percussion duo with reported guitarist Tronzo stepping in from d'elf.
Should be good times being that billy is one of the best drummers in the game today.

Tronzo as in David Tronzo? Most likely yes- and if so then prepare for a sick performance.  Saw him this summer at the Berklee Performance Center with Jamey Haddad, the percussionist for Paul Simon, and a good bassist who I believe teaches at Berklee...the show was amazing...pure improv w/ no prior rehearsals.  He played the slide guitar quite ferociously, and had some interesting innovations using different materials as slides.  He also took an AM radio and placed right against the pick-up- which made for a really cool effect in the jam.  If you get a chance to see him I'd recommend it.

Yeah Lope, he just played in my hometown of Carrollton, MS to a packed house of 123 peeps...fucking amazing.  He and the boys actually stayed at my great-great grandmothers house for 3 nights, got to hang out a bit and drink some moonshine with them...they said that was the smallest, most energetic crowd they have played to in years.  I didn't know any of their songs, but i know good bluegrass, and this was it.

On a side note, if you like the 'Grass, you gotta go to mountainview arkansas.  hillybillyredneck pure music.  for free.

its the original family home (1843) that my family has restored for weekend getaways/reunions, so it had the room for them to all crash...and its pretty cool to see the place, with the outhouse, wood shop, barn, metal shop, etc...these things are just getting erased from so many towns, its quite a cool spot.

With nothing really coming up for NYE, I am considering going to see greyboy Allstars on 12/30 and have that as my NYE.  Hmm.........
