Apparently since it was so bad the guy changed it to a comedy instead of a horror which was its intended purpose.

I'm watching "the worst movie ever made"- The Room. It's on Adult Swim for its annual April Fools joke. I remember trying to watch this movie last year before I had any idea what it was.

Apparently since it was so bad the guy changed it to a comedy instead of a horror which was its intended purpose.

It was never intended to be a horror, but rather a melodromatic romance. After it's release and the flood of negative reviews and all-around making fun of the movie, Tommy Wiseau (the lead actor, as well and the writer and director) said it was intended to be a dark comedy, and that the terrible plot/acting/screenplay was intentional. Severl of the actors in the movie anonymously said that was definitely not the case and that he was completely serious when he made the movie.

Same basic concept. More detail. I intend never to see it though. It sounded fucking terrible.
