30 years ago... Jerry plays 13 nights on Broadway

Kind of a shitty recording, but here is Billy Corgan covering Box of Rain.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

I am always surprised when these sell out...

Not thrilled with that pick, always felt that BCT 72 run would have been a great boxset instead.

That is so weird.  I always wondered if "Shakedown, 1979" was a GD reference.

Not thrilled with that pick,

was hoping for 31Dec.1972, a much better show and, works beautifully for a last show of the year release.

berkeley 72 rocks. very underated shows imo.
post europe and then pigpens departure there is a clear build up of energy  that culminates with Veneta which is obviously the paridigm shift that would determine their direction for the next 2 years.
pretty sure 8-22 with what i consider a top 5 other one, and the 24th w/ the dark star are better but the 1st set of the 25th was a very criculated tape back in the day.

funny about 8-25. i actually have to frozen lager on my fav old mixtape and it also contains what is by far my favortie stage banter ever.

Yeah, when I think of Berkely 72 my mind immediately goes to the Dark Star.  I would have preferred that night, but Matt is right- It would have made an unreal box set.

I never made that connection in my head before, but now that you say it I'm damn sure it's a GD reference. Corgan has spoken of loving GD before.

Here he is playing Morning Dew.

Nice. Totally nails the "haunting" description of the song.

I just paused about halfway thru the final episode of the Long Strange Trip documentary. This is mildly gut-wrenching...
