Saw Long Strange Trip last night - it was very good. Very good, indeed.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

I saw it too with Hicks.  They did not have the surround sound on  :|.  Did they have all the speakers on in your theatre or just the fronts?  There wasn't even any sub.  I was kinda bummed.

Chasing Trane. Saw this last night, and would recommend it to any Coltrane fan or jazz fan or music fan or human. Interviews with his kids, McCoy Tyner, Wynton Marsalis, Sonny Rollins, Santana, Cornell West, Bill Clinton, and others. Also, how bad ass is this movie poster?

Eventually, I'd guess. But it's in a limited run right now, saw it at my local art house theater for their weekly documentary night, figure you should be seeing it pop up at Alamo soon.

I have not seen this yet, but NEON Pictures looks like it's going to be a winning distributor for years to come. NEON was founded by Alamo Drafthouse's Tim League. The guy has great taste and, apparently, deep pockets.

Anyway, this one looks fucking great!

Watched this with my eldest last night. Great movie. Best soundtrack since Trainspotting.

As an avid fan of horror, this was always my #1.

RIP Tobe.

Lego Batman.  Very entertaining.  99 cents through Microsoft/Xbox this week.

Just took my daughter to see the Emoji Movie.
The reviews were pretty critical, but I mean I didn't go into this thing expecting Scorsese.

^ Loved that.

On the plane recently I watched this one ("Museum" in the English translation):

The blurb sounded interesting enough – a detective hunts after a frog-mask-wearing serial killer yadda yadda – but I'm afraid this underperformed. It appeared to be conceived as a mix of Seven and Saw, with too many clichés thrown around and some unintentional camp that I might have charitably attributed to clunky subtitle translations but for the larger and obvious flaws.

C+

But, if you're bored, and a fan of Asian films and/or murder porn, or just want to get a taste of what full-budget contemporary Japanese thrillers are up to, by all means.
Is this still Wombat?
