also, I just need to throw out there that Oni and the Blind Forest is one of those late-night, lights off, hit the vape, and a full glass of scotch platformers that's just beautiful and fun.  usually on sale pretty cheap somewhere...

Rj's got a xbox... whats the world coming to.

but ser, theres a ton out there to choose from these days, really comes down to what type of gamer you are.
for the most part im guessing your not going to be a big multiplayer kinda guy right away so that narrows things down. though i would def say that new battlefront would be a good MP game to get your feet wet with. in general its a pretty casual pvp shooter, and from what i understand there is going to be a single player campaign this time around.

as for solo play, go for the classics youve not seen yet even though they might be older. alot fo them will be mad cheap now but hold up prob better than alot of new titles.
fallout 4 for post apocalypltic rpg, and skyrim for fantasy rpg  alone could keep you busy for years. skyrim is a last getn remaster though, so technically fallout might be the better buy.

i mostly do multiplayer games, so im not the best to recommned solo play, but a few niche picks ive tooled with the last year would be Steep- a very mellow open world snowboard/mountain sport game & Deus Ex mankind divided- a futuristic cyberpunk adventure.

ill repost if anything else pops to mind that i think you might like

I'll second steep if you're into the tony hawk kinda game.  Tons to explore and do whatever the fuck you want.

I also keep watch of games with gold and have found some good deals or totally free games.

But a remake of FF7 is coming soon and I'm super stoked!

im assuming the xbox store is like psn and has tons of great old games constantly on sale for near to nothing.
pretty much anything thats been out awhile gets a major price cut digitally and if you just shop the weekly sales you can score like 5 classics for the price of 1 new game.

Makes me look like a newb, but still check in with that game at least 3 - 4 times a week.
