Some say it's sketchy, but I've only had good experiences.

Stayed within a few blocks of MsG the pst two years and it cost less than any hotels in the area. It was a tiny studio, but what more do you need really...

I've used airbnb all over the world with nothing but great experiences.
I'd take it any day over a hotel.

Looks like my schedule is mostly free for these shows, other than maybe one weekend.

The Jauntee after party got bumped to pre-party and blah blah blah. Probably not gonna happen, although, theres still a chance.

So I'll be at as many shows as I can! Anybody got a free place to stay  :sbw:

QuoteI guess I'll give away a little secret I'm carrying around in my heart here. A big part of the reason that I'm so excited to do something like a 13-night residency in one venue is that staying in one place contributes to a looseness in the atmosphere that we may not have felt since Nectar's, which was for all intents and purposes, a big giant residency.

Staying in one place can lead all kinds of cool things. You get comfortable with the sound of the room, which can lead to a certain freedom in the jamming, and also there are definitely more songs that I would love to try with Phish that TAB plays. A couple in particular that I've always thought would really work.

I was an idiot?  Part of it was that I had no money despite working two jobs, but really it was that I would've been going alone.  None of my friends were that into Phish.  I could round a few of them up to go to a bunch of shows, but they wouldn't sacrifice an event like New Years to go to a show.

Hey, at least you got to catch the 30th and I've dealt with similar situations over the years with my crew. Hence the reason I've yet to catch a NYE show.

Looks like I'll be at 7/28.  My first MSG show since 12/30/95.

This is awesome.
Just curious, what made you skip NYE?
I was an idiot?  Part of it was that I had no money despite working two jobs, but really it was that I would've been going alone.  None of my friends were that into Phish.  I could round a few of them up to go to a bunch of shows, but they wouldn't sacrifice an event like New Years to go to a show.

Hey, at least you got to catch the 30th and I've dealt with similar situations over the years with my crew. Hence the reason I've yet to catch a NYE show.
if only there were people who would go with you....
yeah, like a 'crew' of people that all shared a common interest

Honestly, everyone in the room at a NYE show shares a common interest with you. It's that simple.

But I'm gonna say Crowd Control opener.

Early Tweezers are risky. If they want to really blow it out, cool. If they just want to give us 9 rote minutes, then I'd rather they not waste Tweezer on the old sandwich trick.

So, I'm in for 8/4 and 8/5.  It seems like all of the extras here are taken, so I'm probably just gonna buy tix from TM.  I'm not too familiar with the venue, so I'm hoping y'all can help me.

I'm going to just go to the Paug section, so I don't think my actual seat matters.  Is that correct?  Also, in the case that I needed to go up to my seat for any reason...is the 300 level below the 400 level?  I'm getting confused by the google images that pop up when I look for MSG seating chart.  Thanks!

Paug section is generally 217 or 218 (directly behind the stage) however, I'm not even sure that'll be open tonight...

Paul - 300 is below 400. It's a confusing concept, I know...

I guess this thread is as good as any for this tidbit....

Shoreline can attest - the sound was NOT right in 114 (side stage) last night. There was a serious slap back echo happenning that I'd never heard in MSG before. I was in the same exact section twice over the weekend and this didn't happen.

It seemed as if..... they just didn't account for the empty space behind the stage? Or, those speakers weren't on so that messed up the room delay in general.... not sure how they could make a mistake like that at this level but I had to move spots at set break.

Also... maybe I was just tripping?

Musician problems!

"Gary, I took some good boomers tonight.  Their delay is out-of-phase with your slapback delay in the speaker column pointed to between section E and F.  Can you pull that delay back a bit, or push it to 750ms?  THANKS, TRIPPIN' BALLZ"

No, it was there for sure, and the weird thing is it was sporadic. But BAD when it was happening. Like to the point it was almost disorienting and hard to listen to the music bad. Seemed to mostly be coming from Trey's rig, could have been a crosspatch monitor issue at the board or something, but yeah it was awful. Even for us not TRIPPIN' BALLZ.

But especially for them.  :wtu:
