Lowell is easily my all time fav version, I love its varying moods and spaces, an improvisational masterpiece.

Before this tournament I never got the Lowell hype anytime it was mentioned as "the" Reba (khalpin, I'm looking at you ). Having given this particular matchup a few spins, I definitely have a new found respect for it. The chill jam starting ~7 mins (I think) really is top shelf shit, but in the end it just doesn't come together enough for me to give it the nod over the best Reba ever.

No matter how many times I hear Nashville, I still can't believe the way they make that sharp left into the dark. Fish hits the double time once and they all perk up and the next time Trey is right there with him and Mike and Page are right behind. Before you have a clue what is going on they are just fucking your world up as they play with that melodic evilness that makes you feel safe and scared at the same time. But they don't just leave you stranded there all confused, sitting in the fetal position in a shitter somewhere, wondering if all you ever knew is not what you thought it was. No, they're kind enough to lift you up out of your bewilderment with a monster peak and some whistling taboot (and if we're being critical, the composed sections are tighter in Nashville too).

This one's a no brainer for me.

In the end...

Lowell has a couple nice quiet parts, but no way does it match the majesty of when they turn the minor key "fever dream" section into a full blown outpouring of Reba bliss in the space of about two minutes.  It really is a masterpiece of improv.

Vanderbuilt was the best version ever last week and it turns out that means it still is this week.

Take that Gloria Steinem!

While the asymetrical Vandy Reba is outrageous, the Lowell version is everything I love about Phish.

Did I mention I saw both of these shows?
Im a lucky guy.

Both great Rebas. I voted Vandy for its adroit blending of delicateness and intensity.

This sounds vaguely familiar...
