So this is what I was thinking of...the poll is set to run for two weeks. Hopefully that will inspire enough voting and commentary to make this successful. Remember you can change your vote if you find a better source. Thanks for your participation everyone.

i found the Senns (24 bit) to be really muddy and flat, def WOB to my ears. I did find the other Senns (Deli Mike) really solid, I hope those pop up for this day. Gotfob and TaylorC are my 2 and 3 at this point. But I've just listented to partial songs for all thses sources, my fav's are Shark Km140, but I do usually seem to dig his pulls so that may just be my taste just really fitting his captures.

I was speaking to Mike (Deli) and his 11/01 pull is much better than the 31st. I haven't listened to all these sources yet, but I'm a sucker for Bill Wilson's (aka the Shark420) pulls. His Neumann rig is the bomb and has been pulling huge for some time, it's dialed in. On top of the great Phish pulls from this summer, the Pearl Jam shows he upped awhile back were sick (I'm not a huge PJ fan but dl'd for the quality). Which reminds me, I have to hassle him to throw up that corresponding 24bit to his Shoreline FOB from this summer....

Mike source for 10/30 is nice, but his 11/1 is missing the acoustic set, so that could present a hybrid outcome. We'll see

Cast a provisional vote for gotfob, but I'm going to give "shark420" a listen. I trust SF's word -- but then I'm mostly a headphone (70%) and car stereo (25%) listener. We may be hearing different things - literally.

Well I was going to post something about me not having other shark420 sources, but then I looked and saw that I had a 24bit source for 10-30.  Still no 11-01 though, waiting on that one to pop up.

But don't forget, the whole point of this polling is to not trust anyone's word but your own ears on your own system. So that there is absolutely no chance of bias, it is probably best that you, or anyone else for that matter, not read the complete thread and others comments and choices before making a decision (aside from the first post with the sources). The ear is really good at playing tricks; I assure you, if you want to believe a source is better, your ears will force it to sound better if the subtleties you are comparing are minor.

Ditto on only picking what sounds best to you. Maybe favorite sources would be a better title. I'll add the new sources to the poll when I get back home.

I've liked this source so far as well.

Okay, stop the presses, we need one slight revision. Do we have separate categories for 16 bit and 24 bit evaluations? Why I ask, is that, while comparing two 16 bit sources, we might prefer A over B. However, for B there is a corresponding 24 bit source and it turns out the 24 bit B is better than the 16 bit A. Unfortunately A has no corresponding 24 bit......what do we do? Or is this just anal to the max. The principal reason I ask, is that from the summer tour, I seem to remember my ears picking this up a couple times.

prolly just stick with each source, it'll get too confusing. I added that Senn source as a 24 bit b/c that's the only format it came out in.

I really enjoy Scott's pull as well. Both tapes are nice, both are neumanns, both FOB, after my initial A/B, I'm stickin with my Shark source for the moment.
