Set I: Rocky Top*, Mike's Song > I am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove, Stash, Tube, Guyute, Guelah Papyrus, Scent of a Mule, Cavern, Sloth, The Curtain With
Set II: Down With Disease > Free, Possum, BBFCFM, Swept Away > Steep > David Bowie, Julius, Golgi Apparatus, Fluffhead, Joy
E: Bold as Love
* Last time played 12/30/09 60 Show Gap
Most of what I heard from the second set, sounded pretty sweet.
Thanks for keeping up with it Jason.
Looking forward to hearing the show (as always).
:phish:
What a sick fucking stream, hope they are at the MPP.
No joke, when it was live, it was the shit.

im ok with them playing possum a lot if they are going to keep making them interesting like tonight.
Thanks for hooking up the LST Hicks, +K, even if I didn't get to participate....Looks pretty good....BBFCFM_>Swept Away->Steep->Bowie is a nasty combo.....
looks like a fun show, stoked to hear this "with"
Caught a bunch of set two on that sweet stream. Sounded good. Couldn't lst and stream at the same time on the iPad, though.

Thoughts:
Mike's was a surprise, and held up well. Paug intro was "off"... Mike's intro was missing something, don't know what. He seemed off for the better half of the first set in all honesty, and that's surprising to me. Sloth intro was AWFUL, by Trey, but I expect him to flub something really badly at each show I go to these days. It makes it less painful when it actually happens and a pleasant surprise when it doesn't happen. Most of the first set had nothing to write home about for me at least, except Curtain.
Second set, as a whole, was AWESOME. One of the better set 2's they've played in this 3.0 iteration. Swept Away > Steep > Bowie needs to get some playback for further reviews. Fluffhead was solid as well, nice and funkayyyy.
Mike was also LOUD in the mix, but a good loud. He's usually low in the mix and tonight was the best I was able to hear him. I was on the lawn if that matters to anyone.
Set 2 saved this show, I'll give it a B, but an 86 on a 0-100 scale, putting it very close to a B+. Looking forward to some other reviews and also the return to MPP this weekend!
I was there in section 202 and I thought it was an awesome second set!! Loved the Creature and Possum and Bowie!!!
had some fun tognigth, saw some people, went back home to work in 6 hrs. Then off to MPP post work tomorrow. Nite yall.
En route to columbia. Great times tonight. Standard camden rage. Can't wait to see what they pull out this weekend.
:phish:
Show was very light on the covers too as far as the song selection is concerned. Opened with a cover, closed with a cover, all phish in the middle.
my 6th show this tour & id rank it at the bottom w/ bethel 3

Interesting that you mention this. I was thinking tonight that one of the things that really distinguishes :phish: is the strength of their original material. There are plenty of bands around today with great musicians who do great covers but not many approach their level as far as their own songs go.

Tonight was good. Miles ahead of pnc...
wasnt at pnc
top shelf: bethel 1&2
great w/ a unique feel: darien
decent but flawed: great woods
little creativity/terrible flow w/ a few good moments: camden & bethel 3
I totally dug the show tonigt. Curtain w/ jam was gorgeous.
Downtown Philly is a crazy place to wander around at night....
Looking forward to hearing this 'With' jam.
Looks good. I'm just a bit surprised that they have limited their song selection so much. 2 show gaps for 'greatest hits' are becoming the norm. Can't wait to give it a listen though...

Good setlist. Some highs, some meh. But all in all, fun in Camden.

Phish is back!
This was seriously the worst show I've ever seen at Camden. They were out of sync all night and I'm convinced Trey did drugs. Page killed Tube it in as usual and BBFCFM and the Steep jam were pretty cool. But other than that, it was painful IMO. The Sloth literally knocked me to the ground like a punch to the gut.

I agree that the Sloth was prolly the worst thing ive ever heard...i dont think trey was on drugs, i just think he was trying really hard to play well in NJ. he seemd over-anxious cause the sloth it sounded like he was playing all the notes early like he was getting ahead of himself.
I like that they are trying to venture out in Possum but i thought that was pretty bad too. Loved the Top opener and Tube was sick, and that steep jam got really really cool before it got cut off. I still thought it was a real fun show and had a great time, highs and lows but all around a great time in Camden as always. hope to see ya at MPP tnite!

Just stick to the shows you choose to go to, because any show that mattstick is at is awesome.
Is it true that your shit doesn't stink either?
I need to listen again, but the stream was awesome, and I heard it pretty well. I must have been listening to another show, because I've definitely heard much worse playing than I did last night on this tour.

Not sure why you're saying this, I was critical of AC, Bethel I and III, and that's just recently. But people judging me without any actual first hand knowledge is par for the course around here.
A few delicious fresh pieces of meat on stail bread was last night.
BBFCFM was entertaining as hell! Complete with Trey and Mike antics.
Was probably my least favorite Camden show I've seen but still one of the most fun nights I've had in awhile
looks like a good show. Gonna give it a listen later tonight. I am liking most of what is going on right now. The short songs don't bother me at all. Don't get me wrong, I like a nice 15-20 reba or Jim but not all the time. I don't need to listen to a jam for 10 minutes to have a good time. Play a song a move along to something new. Does anyone remember the early 90s shows where the long songs usually only clocked in at maybe 10 minutes... but usually around 6 or 7
Finally got to meet some pauggers last night and had a wonderful time with you all! That curtain...
Julius was rock and roll at its finest!

But Darien was
fantastic right? They must have known mattstick was in town. They did tease happy birthday just for you, after all.
The show must have been pretty boring if all you can talk about is me...
There were a few really nice highlights. Possum through BBFCFM was really great. Overall though one of the weaker shows I've seen.
Also up there with 6/2/09 as the most flubbed show I've seen.

I agree with this. I thought the second set was pretty weak. Especially Bowie. First set was a lot of fun though. Phish seems to have problems keeping the momentum from the 1st set going into the 2nd...
Possum or Curtain were def the highlights for me. Fluffhead was a treat, but by the time they went into Joy I was ready to head back to the lot. Always nice to hear Axis though.
Also, out of the three Camden shows I've seen, this one def had the tamest crowd.

agreed. Still had that "Camden buzz" but seemed a little tamer than usual.
I loved that Rocky Top opener. Also, I'm so psyched that they are finally trying to do
something more interesting with Possum.
McGrupp, Lizard_Lady and I were getting down!
That setlist looks like an orgasm on paper.
Now that I read that line back, I think I just puked a little.

That's funny, from what I heard on the stream the second set was much better than the first, the botched Scent and Sloth were vibe killers although they did redeem somewhat with an excellent Curtain.
Trey's "solo" during Scent made me puke all over again earlier today.
charlie dirksen says this could be fav curtain with evar.
also one of the best short dwd's and a top version of possum......

Yeah, not good. Immediately apparent why they don't play Sparkle much at all :| Page crushed. Tube was tight, but I don't know why it is getting accolades, it is too short to live in the memory long :?
Only through the first set, and one listen, but liked parts of the Mike's, Guyute (on first listen) was immaculate and much improved over the last performance, ditto Guelah where Page fell down an elevator shaft on the last reading, and Curtain With is good. Does it sound to anyone like the tempo is slower on this Curtain With than earlier versions? I haven't A/B'ed but it struck me as slow, especially the "Rift" portion and the jam to some extent.
I'm not getting the love for the Curtain. The With was very good, but the Curtain was pretty sketchy, IMO (although I haven't re-listened yet).
For me, the show started downhill with Stash. They were building the tension nicely and then completely missed the peak and stumbled through the end.
Looking forward to hearing the Possum for the first time though. I was too busy that night walking to the bathroom muttering "5 out of fucking 11? WTF?!"

Definitely. But even in his current state, he had enough sense to preface his review with a disclaimer about his lack of sleep and residual inebriation. :hereitisyousentimentalbastard
I like the effect that Mike is using during this 'Paug. It's not an exemplary version, but it is interesting.
Someone in this thread was comparing the shorter versions of songs in 3.0 to the shorter versions from the early 90's.

I remember thinking "Kuroda is on FIRE" during the possum. I like what they've been doing with that song recently.
there were a few songs during the first set that were over 10min,(which i wont complain about, jsut means they're jamming.) but for some reason, songs just felt so short, along with other shows this summer, i feel like songs are being cut short. Probably because of the lack of jamming.
As far as music goes, it was nice hearing Curtain With to finish off the first set. Second set i found was good, some good choices in there. Possum, Big black furry creature, bowie....
Personally i think the best part was the beginning of second set. As much as people are loving first set, which i also did, i still think that Down With Disease-Free-Possum-Big Black Furry Creature, was good.
I think the BBFCFM was my favorite part of the show. It was pretty mindblowing at the time.
