Finally finished up Spring '90 (again)

Such a fantastic tour. One of my favorites.

PIE-GUY

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

I believe these are Betty's notes.

Pretty cool.

VA $l!m

been plowin thru may- july 74.
theres so many godsmacking shows from these months that it is always a different one  or two that grabs me each time i go through them.
this time 'round its the Selland 7-14 show.

what a surreal show.
ITs one of those shows that they are so loose that they are tight shows. basically slipping into the X-Factor ether.
its Keith's birthday and he is on another planet, and i'd have to say the entire band is LIT.
This tour is already super experimental with wildly varrying versions of jams, but the Selland show being at the tale end of it they really seem to just let things go wherever the shit takes them.
-check out Jerry in the Scarlet Jam with the uncommon overdrive/distortion.

then the second set is just a dream. I just love how this shapes up even on paper. REally atypical yet the songs all seem to have the same vibe.
BEW opener?! M&MU then ROses, Jack straw-- seemless and all stand outs. then the meat of Hes Gaone>Us BLues (?!)> WRS>LIG>spanish jam>EYES>China doll>Sat nite.
I love the WRS>eyes in this slot, when its usually leans more to a late 1st set or early second set combo.
the whole WRS>spanish jam>Eyes is just on another plane.
do yourself a favor and go listen to this one.

-I'm still walkin', so i'm sure that I can dance-

That show is Dave's Picks 17 and it's amazing.

Love that show
Eyes is amazing. Playin' also.

Randomly stumbled upon this FM-hijacked SBD from a rehearsal in Seattle on 5/24/95 where Jerry teaches the band Tough Mama...

So...  GD-related.  Please don't flip out.  But the other night of the Dopapod run in Boston, they played Nerds in the style of the Dead and did Nerds -> He's Gone -> Nerds and it's pretty damn great.  You all ought to listen.  Really well-played.  You can listen to the SBD for free here:  http://music.dopapod.com/album/2017-04-08-paradise-rock-club-boston-ma-2
