if you really want to mail me a check, you can pm me for my address.  i will deposit it in my bank and then transfer it to the fundraiser paypal account.

which gets us to the real point here - what should i do w/ the $$ that we've raised so far?

a.) buy him something to get him online as a "gift" from the community?
b.) just give him the $$ and let him buy what he wants?

i tend to think that an ipad is probably the ideal way for him to get online while layed up on his back in a hospital bed.  but i dont know if he agrees.  and maybe he doesnt have much use for a wifi ipad later on.  so maybe just giving him the $$ is the best idea?
i think i will take you up on the offer

and now that you mention it i think option B is a good idea, or at least ask what he wants. or what he thinks is necessary.

Ellis posted this on phish.net for us.  Although some of the links go to interesting places, it's the thought that counts!

It looks like the ebay auction is up to about $600.  Not too shabby!  There is one print that is only at 1 cent still though.

you can buy a pretty decent laptop for 600. I say this because if his laptop is toast he's going to need another one for his photography work, ipad or not.

Shawn has another $152.50 coming his way from bunkster/myself/Mrs. Augusto.

guyforget

i dont have any experience w/ charity or fundraisers, but im very proud, and humbled by everything that i feel like we've done here.  i feel like we've raised a significant amount of money that will help shawn return to normalcy whether he uses it to pay for a new computer, and some camera gear, or if he uses it to pay some bills, or whatever.

more auctions are being listed today, i wanted to wait for some to start to end so that we're a little spread out.

thanks again to everyone who has contributed, whether by bidding, donating monetarily or prints for auction, or just offering up your support, vibes, etc.
