anyone watching House of Cards?
i saw the first 3 episodes and i was like, 'meh.'
I was thinking about starting it. Is it not worth the time?

I dont really like that show. Pretty blah imo. Very slow.

Whaaaaat?  That show is incredible.  I don't know, maybe you aren't into political drama but I really enjoyed it.  Not to mention, they film a lot of it in my neighborhood which is pretty cool.  Got to see Kevin Spacey & Bill Clinton at Starbucks one night which was sweet.

it is a bit unbelievable at times, which is what i needed to get over.
spacey is great in it, but everything goes a little to well for frank....

I have some friends that are addicted to it. Honestly, I had a hard time taking the show seriously. The dialogue is really dramatic when it doesn't really need to be.
Just two whiskies, officer.

I'm not sure if I followed this thread correctly, but what guys are saying is that Dave Thomas sold crack in inner-city DC in the mid-80's, right?

Wow, just realized this whole time I was thinking of House of Lies on showtime with Don Cheadle. Haven't ever seen House of Cards actually.

I agree actually, at first I couldn't stand how he addressed the audience directly but ilthat gets overlooked when the plot stars to develop.

Comedy Bang! Bang! is pretty hilarious.

I saw 3 interesting Filippino movies over the weekend via nf, Cavite, La Visa Loca and Insiang.  All 3 were classic.  Also saw Ice Cube's doc about the LA Raiders "Straight Outta LA", good stuff.  nf rules.

Last night I watched "You Don't Know Bo," a documentary about Bo Jackson from ESPN's "30 for 30" series. A pretty interesting look at one of the all-time great athletes.
Is this still Wombat?

That's one of the better ones, IMO.  I thoroughly enjoyed it when it debuted.

There have been a bunch of the Ken Burns documentaries available streaming for a while now.  I was happy to find out this morning that they added the Jazz doc to the list of streaming titles.

Which other ones should I watch? I saw "Michael Rides the Bus," enjoyed that one too. Or maybe it was "Jodan Rides the Bus." Anyway, it was about MJ's attempt at pro baseball.

Thanks! I never saw "Jazz" and only saw pieces of "The Civil War" during history class...

saw the doc on H Kissinger over the weekend, def check that out too if you get a chance.  what a mofo in that because of his need for power, ended up killing hundreds of thousands of innocent cambodians and vietnamese as well as tens of thousands of american soldiers all for his own ego.  what a douche.
