nice.

I think 'The Fade' might be one of the saddest songs I have ever heard.

Pretty fucking heartbreaking.

Volunteers is also pretty great.

RJ you heard about this collabo?

QuoteThere have been rumblings for some time now about a return of the Chippewa Valleys own Shouting Matches. That time has come.

The blues-rock project, which involves Bon Ivers Justin Vernon, Megafaun's Phil Cook and Laarks/Peter Wolf Criers Brian Moen, has existed only in fleeting one-off shows and a mysterious EP that has floated around the area (and the Internet) have a new record coming out on April 16 called GROWNASS MAN.

We dont know much about the album, except that it was recorded over the last year in Vernons Fall Creek studio and that its being released on the Middle West label which we assume is connected to the local management company of the same name that manages all of Vernons various projects.

One of my faves.
Dysfunction and itemized lists of people's failures are where it's at.

Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

So I spoke to Phil & Brad from Megafaun when I was in Durham for Akron/Family. They were both really stoked that I had posted this and said they really enjoyed listening to it and the way their band sounded back then. Phil also remembered surprising details about the night including chatting at length at the bar before soundcheck.
