2011 Paug Band March Madness

So a few weeks ago, I heard some guys on ESPN talking about a "Rock & Roll of all time March Madness."  I thought it might be kind of fun to do.  Here is what I have thought of.

1) List 64 bands on a spreadsheet and submit them to me.  I will compile the list of 64 and create a seeding based on the number of times a band is entered.  For example, if everyone submits Phish, then they will get a 1 seed, etc. 
2) Once I develop the seeds, I will create the full bracket and re-post.
3) Each round will consist of another vote similar to the seeding system and this will determine which band wins that round.  You are welcome to maintain a copy of the bracket to see how you did. 
4) Each round will coincide with the round of games going on in the NCAA tournament.  This will give me some time to actually tally and post. 
5) At the end of the tournament, we will crown the victor of the 2011 Band March Madness.

Submissions must be completed by the end of the day March 9, 2011.  This will give me time to compile and reveal the bracket on Selection Sunday.

I am open to any suggestions and thoughts.  More to come.

Yeah, its not necessarily a new idea, just figured it could spark some interesting debate/discussion.

if you dont recall the aforementioned instance, you might have missed the intended humor in the post. 

not trying to discourage anyone from setting anything up for discussion here, though i wouldsuggestthat the 2 - 10 spots might provide the more interesting discussion than the top spot since its pretty apparent who would win among this group.

hmmm it might be more fun if this had its own subforum and each match up was a poll thread. 

That way we could bitch about how x was losing to y and whatnot.
