On initial glance most of the bracket finalists were to be expected but there were a couple mild surprises. I know there are going to be some also-rans that I would like to discuss (dedicated thread?). Just one or two omissions I need to take exception with. But at only 4 versions per song, you know some worthy picks were going to be excluded.

This may seem strange, but I'm not all that into this round. I love Phish. I really do. And I love certain versions of songs from certain dates. But I don't spend that much time with this level of interest in one version over another. I have some favorites but I didn't even bother to enter a list for consideration. I'd like to say I'm pissed the Mike's from 12/30/93 isn't on here, but it may have made it had I put together my list of favorites, so I have no right to pissed.

Anyway, you geeks hash this one out without me... I may place some votes for a couple of favorites, but I will abstain for the most part. Phish is a continuum. There are reasons to love all of the versions in all these matchups. I can't say one is "better" than another.

One other suggestion: when you vote, try to take a minute and say why you voted for the version you did. The whole point of this is to foster discussion and rekindle our love for this band (for those of you who have forgotten; you know who you are!) so offering more than "I picked A" or "B, duh" is strongly encouraged.
