Just wanted to get some opinions from people, whether they be positive or negative.
Personally, I didn't get to see any shows this summer which obviously sucked but I was lucky enough to go to Hampton and I have no complaintsabout that.  But Hampton was very different than summer tour, so I just want to hear soem honest feedback from people that have seen shows this leg og the tour.
I have heard just about the whole tour by audio and simply I think that the boys needs to get together and practice a little more to stay consistant before RR and the 2nd leg out west. New songs are, well, meh.... and the rotation is definetly not so out of the box IMHO.  I am not bashing at all and I think they are trying but things are a little different now for everyone there.
Highlights, New Songs, whatever.  Let's get into it...
:phish: :beers:

So there was discussion already started in the 06/21 AV Review thread concerning songs not played, so I just thought I'd throw this out there to show what was done, and what was left sitting out there.

Here's some I came up with:
Llama, SASS, It's Ice, Guelah, Rocky Top, Pebbles and Marbles, Sloth, Ginseng, Dog Log, BBFCFM, Roggae, Sneakin Sally, Mango Song.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own.

Bobafett

i really wanted a sloth.  I am very excited about how they continued to better themselves each night of this leg...makes me excited for Chi-town.  They are on the up and up.
The events in our lives happen in a sequence in time, but in their significance to ourselves they find their own order; the continuous thread of revelation.

PIE-GUY

I love how people complain about repeats:

Quote143 songs have been played (20% of songs Phish have played).
The average number of songs per show is 21.4.
The average amount of times each song was played is 2.25.
There were 54 onetimers

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

At the same time, there are 3 in the 40% club (6 of 15 shows).  40% is pretty frequent, especially if you did the whole run.

Character Zero - 6 (40%)
Kill Devil Falls - 6 (40%)
Possum - 6 (40%)

Add in another 6 from the 33% club:

Divided Sky - 5 (33%)
Down With Disease - 5 (33%)
Harry Hood - 5 (33%)
Ocelot - 5 (33%)
Wolfman's Brother - 5 (33%)
You Enjoy Myself - 5 (33%)

So, if youre seeing a lot of shows this run, and you keep getting the same 3 of those 9 songs I just listed, I understand how one can start to get frustrated w/ repeats.

still, I think the 54 one-timers outweighs the 3 40%-ers.

meh if they play an average of 21 songs per show, and nine songs are in heavy rotation then that means that 2/3s of the show should be songs that were played less frequently than every third show.  That'd be fine with me.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

There is too much math on this site lately.

I think Pie-Guy's assessment of the one-timers is sound. Repeats happen on every tour. It's the quality of those and the quality of everything else that you have to address.

Overall, I think this tour grew in quality, making distinct leaps in the last four shows.

Glad I'm seeing something at the end of the next leg.
