Blitzen trapper has a new album coming out in October called 'All Across This Land'. The first single 'Lonesome Angel' is available on soundcloud right now. I've heard a few of the other new songs on a live recording that was posted to LMA a few weeks ago. I like the sound of them all, they seem to heading back towards the old school sound as apposed to the country-funk that was 'VII'.

Here's the LMA show with the other new songs: (also, check out the 13 minute Thirsty Man!)

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Here's a Soundcloud link to Blitzen Trapper covering 'Man of Constant Sorrow'. This is some seriously good shit.

So their new project is a theatrical musical. They released a song from the soundtrack today.

The soundtrack is a limited edition of 500 vinyl only sold at The Armory during the shows. If any Portland paugers go to the show and snag me an a copy, I'd greatly appreciate it.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Saw Wild and Reckless last night, it was really awesome hearing a rock band through a theater sound system where you could hear every note perfectly and without morons chatting away throughout the entire show.

As for the story itself, a big part of it was a tribute to the old Portland that is basically gone now with references to specific places so that was cool, but overall it did seem a bit half baked and they recycled a lot of older songs for it.

Definitely glad I went, but Eric Earley ain't exactly Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Anyway, I've got a record for you Mr C, shoot me a PM and we'll hook it up.

Sounds interesting but I was skeptical when I heard they were doing this.
Probably a bit cooler for someone living in Portlandia.
Any tapers Hicks?

They announced a 10th anniversary edition of Furr today! It's up for pre-order on Bandcamp. Lots of extra and unreleased stuff and a few b-sides on it. Early orders can still get the Loser edition on clear and good vinyl!
