Sweet article, but yet another reminder to me that Phish 3.0 is still a "delicate" entity.
Just two whiskies, officer.

I'm not sure if I followed this thread correctly, but what guys are saying is that Dave Thomas sold crack in inner-city DC in the mid-80's, right?

Thanks for sharing.  I was waiting for this article to come out, as I was standing about 10 feet way from David Fricke the first two nights.  It was a little distracting, because every song I kept looking over and checking him out to see if he was digging it.  It seemed like he was really enjoying it for the most part, bobbing his head pretty consistently....

WhatstheUse?

there really are some great quotes in there!

The last paragraph actually got me pretty excited for some new tunes, and new album.  Lets hope these new songs force us to get our dancing shows on and boogey down!

I love what the band did in Sand.  Those last 12-13 minutes were ACE, Tom Ace.  If I were drinking from the toilet, I might have been killed.

Bouncin' - after all that, fuck they could have kicked their instruments in the face and I would have loved to eat some ice cream.

Phish 3.0:  Bringing the song back to the Jam community.

I like that slogan!

I was thinking the other day...
how about a 16-song first set followed by a 5-song second set?  or vice versa.

I'm actually very anti-5-song sets at this point.

I noticed while listening to the Darien Lake '00 Suzie that there are about ten minutes of wank for 5 minutes of rocktastic sweetness... and that I feel that way about many post '98 jams.  I think that Phish needs to relearn how to make their songs powerful again as opposed to focusing on long extended improv.

From the 3 hampton shows, none of my highlights were the extended improvs... Even though I think that up until minute 14 of the DWD, the jam is sweet as hell, and then bores out...
