Is this still the hate thread?
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Outside of my window at work is part of the roof.  This goose that flew into the window a few hours ago is really struggling.  He's been flopping around twitching and breathing slowly for a few hours.  We can't get someone here until tomorrow morning at the earliest.

It really sucks to watch.

Can't get the guy to an emergency vet?
Just two whiskies, officer.

I'm not sure if I followed this thread correctly, but what guys are saying is that Dave Thomas sold crack in inner-city DC in the mid-80's, right?

Oh! That! No, no, no, you're not ready to step into The Court of the Crimson King. At this stage in your training an album like that could turn you into an evil scientist.

So to make matters worse, the facilities guy just called a roofer or something.  The guy was shocked that it was alive.  He ended up euthanising it.  It was bad to watch.  Probably the best thing for the bird actually, but fuck, that sucked.

RIP Goose.  Go be with Maverick

computer systems at work that are supposed to make my job easier but in fact make it much more difficult.
It seems as if the people that design these things have no idea how we will use them - every "enhancement" actually creates more work.

actually, I hate this every day, but today is unusually frustrating.

I, too, have been having a bad technology day. And it always has to happen when we are working on some critical shit.

I used to think that a computer was a tool for me to get my work done.

Now, the main feature is the computer program, and I feel like a tool

Sucks when it happens during crunch time, but whenever the technology gremlins attack on non-crunch time, I'm usually grateful.

"Now my boss doesn't mind if I dick around on the internet for an unspecified amount of time to fix a problem they know way less about than me"

is how I look at it on especially boring (and unproductive days) days.

ETA: And yes, I'm not a total dick, I do feel bad about being unproductive, but we all have those days.  I'm just glad when technology breakdown is there to make the excuses easy.
