The fact that you bought tickets so late only confirms that people are not going out of there way to see Phish like they used to anymore.  If anything, I expected them to sell out 7/3 and 7/4, and that be about it.  Demand is down, and the quality of product just isn't worth the hassle for many people.

You might be right, but portsmouth is also very out of the way this year. I'd suspect that a lot of people are skipping it and heading from AC > Riverbend.

Also, I've never heard of people having such a hard time with SPAC tickets as with this year. I wouldn't necessarily say demand is down. Different tours breed different demands.
Just two whiskies, officer.

I'm not sure if I followed this thread correctly, but what guys are saying is that Dave Thomas sold crack in inner-city DC in the mid-80's, right?

Exactly, people are kinda starting to "move on" I guess you can say, and not get so held up on getting tickets right at public onsale, or going at all.

But, you can def tell since 2009, summer tickets have got substantially easier to get. Moreso then fall tour tickets.

Yeah, seems like NY tickets are always high demand though. Everyone I know who tried for SPAC in Boone got all lawns, one got a pav first night. One kid got a 7-3/4 and thats it. I got my 4th through the lotto.
Other venues in the Northeast seem to not have so much demand though, VT was an exception. I guess great woods and camden are both bigger than spac and jb...

Have been in contact with someone from Alpine Valley via Email to get some ADA (handicap section) tickets.  They are right behind the pit so should be pretty sweet!  My wife would never go with me before but this year she agreed, she even turned down Hampton 09'.  Next I'll contact Deer Creek and see what they can do, hope you all have a wonderful summer tour.
See you in Chicago!
