Hitters need to get back on the juice.
My theory is this: in the 90s/90s/early-00s there were a ton of "professional" hitters in MLB, guys who you could plunk at 1B/3B/RF/LF/DH and not care about their glove.
Teams have been stressing defense first for a few seasons now and a lot of those guys are gone, in favor of weaker-hitting strong-defenders. If you were a strong hitter at an "up the middle" position, you've probably been moved to a corner position to save your bat long-term.
Look at how much ridicule the Tiggers got for putting 2 fat guys on the corners... the defense-first paradigm is in full swing now.
