M's working on a combined no hitter thru 8...

... And they got it. Six pitchers. 10th combined no hitter in MLB history.

That Phillies offense really got the Os the last night. 9 runs scored  :-o
Os almost came back but couldnt get 3 more runs to tie it up....will probably be at the game today. Lets go Os!

It's cool, I'm happy for you guys. I mean, it's been such a long, long time since O's fans have still been able to talk shit with just 100 games to go.

LIGHTS OUT!

That was really cool to watch.

Lots of moves made before the deadline. Sadly, the O's need pitching, but didn't get anything done.  :shakehead:

O's need to take this series from the yanks!

Seattle's Felix Hernandez tossed a perfecto last night.

Third one this season. Hitters need to get back on the juice.

Yup. And the rays have been no hit 4 times since 2009. No other team has been no hit more than once in that same time period!

Hitters need to get back on the juice.

My theory is this: in the 90s/90s/early-00s there were a ton of "professional" hitters in MLB, guys who you could plunk at 1B/3B/RF/LF/DH and not care about their glove.

Teams have been stressing defense first for a few seasons now and a lot of those guys are gone, in favor of weaker-hitting strong-defenders.  If you were a strong hitter at an "up the middle" position, you've probably been moved to a corner position to save your bat long-term.

Look at how much ridicule the Tiggers got for putting 2 fat guys on the corners... the defense-first paradigm is in full swing now.
