The MSU show is going up tonight, it's been on the archive for a couple of days. Lots of good stuff in there tho. I was looking for the instrumental Crane Wife.

Nope.

They have a couple more dates this month and then that's it for the year. Nothing else has been announced.

also re: the long Days of Elaine:
Yes, it's on the download, not sure if it's on the vinyl or not.
It's one of the B-sides of the Days of Elaine single.

I can't wait for the records to come. I cheaped out and ordered them with the single-shipping option so I have to wait until next month for the package.

Yeah, i looked last night but was too lazy to post.

RJ, if you have time, grab 'The Island' from the MSU show. it was the highlight of the show. That and the fact that Colin Meloy says 'Hello University of Michigan' at the beginning of the concert...

I only ordered the Days of Elaine and Valerie Plame singles, skipped the Raincoat Song disc... I also had to order another copy of The Crane Wife for a friend...

I ordered the whole set... didn't see any reason not to.

Now I just need Picaresque and I'll have all of their vinyl.

I have Picaresque, I'd play it every day if I could too...

Hey did you ever see the ep of Mad Men with The Decemberists track in the intro?

edit to add: we should change the name of this thread to "Decemberists Discussion" and move it into the General board.

Picaresque is great... just need the vinyl.

These days I think I spin Castaways & Cutouts the most.

As for Mad Men, nope. Still on Season 1.

My father in law is building a bunch of custom furniture for Colin Meloy right now, here in Portland.  Says he is a nice guy.

If I weren't going to be on the train, I'd be all psyched for this.

Looking forward to it coming on the KEXP Live Music podcast...
