Sons of Aerosmith's Joe Perry out to blaze own musical trail with TAB the BandBy Brent Hallenbeck, Free Press staff Report • Thursday, March 11, 2010The name of the rock group TAB the Band is derived from the three founders' first names -- guitarist Tony Perry, vocalist/bass player Adrian Perry and drummer Ben Tileston.But there's another name inextricably linked to TAB the Band: Joe Perry, guitarist for legendary Boston rockers Aerosmith and father of Adrian and Tony. Adrian Perry spoke about his family connections (and Vermont connections) recently by phone from New York City, where he lives.TAB the Band is touring to promote its third album, "Zoo Noises," and will play Saturday at The Monkey House.
BFP: Do you know that another guitarist with Vermont ties, Trey Anastasio, has a solo band called Classic TAB, as in Trey Anastasio Band?AP: I had seen something about it that he had something called TAB. We didn't know. We respect him, but we're not big listeners of Phish. I don't think anyone's going to show up (to TAB the Band shows) expecting to hear jam music
