i'm not a big fan of social media as i think it's doing some pretty bad things to the human psyche.  the only one i have is twitter because i enjoy getting information on the bands i like.  anyway, i got a push notification from a twitter account that i do not follow about their tweet today.  it was trump.  didn't read that tweet, but just seeing the notification on my phone in the middle of a busy day made me ill.  i may be done with the twitters.

It's a fucking cesspool of crypto bots and overt racists and nazis. The n and f words are fair game now all thanks to Elon. Take a look at shitheads like the Anthony guy from Opie and Anthony.  It's just straight overt racism.  Elmo told advertisers to go fuck themselves if they didn't like it and now they are suing companies for not advertising lol.

I left Twitter a long time ago now. I left behind a decent following and engagement level for mastodon (shakedown.social or heads.social are the place to go if you make the jump). It's WAY better, albeit quieter.

Honestly, staying on Twitter just adds coins to Elon's pocket and that guy can and should go fuck himself.

i don't go on twitter anymore, but hang out on bluesky. it feels like twitter did in 2012. not as much engagement as mastadon it seems, but it definitely has been a chill place for me these days.

I find the engagement to swing wildly between the two. Different things get different action.
I've got a reply about pummelling one of those Boston Dynamics robot dogs with a metal baseball bat that's doing (relative) numbers on Bluesky. Mastodon is slower but steadier. Definitely a higher percentage of heads on the cool servers tho.
