Stumbled onto this guy after reading the write up in Jambase that Anthrax posted in the 93 JJ Cale opener thread. I guess he opened for the  :phish: in Vancouver. What a riot.

Baby Gramps is awesome!
He had 2 songs on the seriously excellent Rogues Gallery compilation of modern artists doing pirate songs and sea shantys (not joking, this album is great), and on one of them Akron/Family were his backup chorus.
Here's them doing it on Letterman -

He legit brought back memories of a guy I used to play shows with. I actually reached out to this dude after 15+ years apart based on hearing Baby Gramps. The creativity and talent is totally on par with this old friend of mine. I've always been drawn to that kind of 'IDGAF, this is who I am' kind of attitude.

When Steve Vai and Al De Meola say someone is an amazing guitar player, you stop what you're doing and go listen to them! This kid is pretty damned good.
