If y'all are diggin' on Deodato. Listen to this:

Deodato-Super Strut live 1974. John Tropea on guitar just killin' it.

Damn! This stuff is so good. Had never even heard this guy's music before. I've already listened to his Prelude album. Does anyone have other album recommendations?

i'm not that big fan of his records more than just a few tracks off some but I like:

"Deodato/Airto Live In Concer"t-this is from Felt Forum and MSG I think 1974. On CTI label. easy to find and cheap.

I like "Night Cruiser" cuz you're getting more on the disco tip.

Then of couse you've got the super classic "Whistle Bump"

I kept expecting to hear Fishman singing Gettin' Jiggy With It during that.

I don't think age can be used as an excuse for shitty guitar playing any more.

Apparently this is old news but it's news to me.

I guess three yrs ago Lenny Kravitz was in NOLA and and heard a youth choir doing "Fly Away" and he finds them and crashes it.  Pretty fucking cool, well just watch it for yourself. Thanks to Heath for posting it up on FB.

Kid absolutely CRUSHES the solo.
