I've been sitting on OS 10.10 Yosemite for a long minute now. Holy crap, it came out in '14. I prefer to take my sweet time on updates since I don't like fixing what's not broke and Apple OS rollouts don't tend to excite me anymore.

Now I'm starting to run into more and more software I can't install because of my cranky ways.

Tell me, people of the future: what's it like out there on OS X Fisherman's Wharf or whatever? Is it time for me to get with the program?

Handbrake is free

or dvd decrypter -> autoGK, those are free

So, it ripped it but the end result looks like the scrambled cable porn I used to watch as a kid. I assume that's because of the DRM?? Any suggestions?

you need to install the decryption part of Handbrake separately now i think - if i can find those instructions again, i'll post them

Not sure what you're ripping, but if it's not a commercial disc, it probably wouldn't have DRM...

My daughter just got the new MB Air for her birthday a couple of weeks back.  More dough than we would usually spend on a bday but the grandparents all chipped in and we had to make something happen since she is now doing all of her schooling online.  Got $100 off from education program.  Anyway, this thing is bitchin.  My main PC is a 2015 27 retina iMac and I also have a 10 year old MBP but that's barely hanging on.  New MBAir is dope.  Fast and light and a lot of cool features.  I'll get a new laptop at some point, and would normally go MBP, but from what I have seen so far, not sure why I wouldn't go Air for  myself.
