No, I get it. But the throughput of USB2.0 is 480mbps.

1411.2kbps is a miniscule drop in the bucket compared to that.

Correct...that's what it can BURST to......it can't sustain that data rate constantly....THAT is where the issue lands. ESPECIALLY when you have extra USB devices in a system, or if you go up in resolution.

I missed this thread earlier but Marmar handled my points (re: usb = burst) nicely.

I use firewire @ home (with a tascam interface).

Works great.
