PIE-GUY

if you're bored, you should do this quiz...

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/12/20/sunday-review/dialect-quiz-map.html?

Apparently I'm equal parts Newark, NJ and Jackson, MS... sounds about right, actually.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Nailed it: Philly/Southern NJ (which is really just a part of Philly that we annexed).

Fun quiz. It correctly pegged my Maryland heritage.

eta: Damn, Jimbo. How isolationist of you. Here's mine.
Is this still Wombat?

most similar:  Rockford, IL. (Home of Cheap Trick and economic collapse), Aurora, IL. (home of Wayne and Garth), Toledo, OH.

least similar:  Jersey City, New York, Philly

being a southside Chicago kid, these results are accurate.

We drink wooder, eat hoagies, and wear sneakers. Tennis shoes are for tennis (and even then, they're tennis sneakers).

Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

PhishJY

Honestly though, this whole post whoring thing is getting to be a little ridiculous.  But does having a higher post count make a cooler pauger?

This is pretty spot on. I grew up and live in the Baltimore area, but most of my family is from Raleigh, NC. I spent a lot of time down there growing up as well. They gave me Newark because I've always known it as "mischief night". Weird.

I guess you can take the boy out of NY but can't take the NY out of the boy
although there were some terms that I've changed over time (hero vs sub, traffic circle vs rotary)

Should've just taken the whole week off.  At least I'm telecommuting.

I went out last night with a good buddy of mine that is in town (he lives in Boulder), and fuck me.  Feeling incredibly rough.  first time in a long time, I got stoned before work to ease the hangover pains.  Gonna be a long day.  I have to go to my cousin's wedding tonight too  :frustrated:
