How this show gets an "A" from anyone is beyond me.  I honestly prefer 3.0.

Just reiterating it because it blows my mind that you of all people think this is a good show.

I definitely wouldn't.  I think it sounds like disjointed butthole for the most part.  I do really like the 2001 and Bathtub Gin, however.  The show club was the first time I gave this show a spin and after the awesomeness of the 2001 settled into the mediocrity of the rest of the show, I was all like "WHY DOES ANYONE LIKE THIS?".  I was looking forward to hearing the Ghost, and then I was unfortunate enough to stick around for it, and was like "ugh...this is what I hated about 99/00 phish".  The abysmal Mike's sealed my hatred for the show.  There is literally nothing to like imo about that Mike's.

After I turned that show off, I immediately returned to the Charlotte show which has been in pretty heavy rotation on my e devices.

seriously... not sure where your ears are on this one faux.  you and i are usually in the same mindset i feel like, but def way off on this one.

granted "I WAS THERE".... but still this show is just great.

funny actually that while it was happening, i was not impressed with the ghost or mikes, but upon relistening, the ghost just shreds.  highlight of the night for sure is the Gin, but the entire show is a GO from the off.

there are a few 3.0 shows I might prefer of this but not many (red rocks 09 first night).

2001 - Great spacey version of this dance party to kick things off. 

CDT - The usual rage fest. 

Guelah - ONE, TWO, PUNCH!   BOOM!

Axilla I - More rawk please and thank you.  No dark pt 2 but that's cool.

MMGAMOIO - Little bluegrass to calm down while moving.

Beauty - Bluegrass soothes the soul.

Gin - Here we go y'all. Love this first set gin action, stays pretty close to normal status but the arpeggios from trey bring out the subtle beauty of this one.  Then peaks at 15 before coming back down to reality.  Nicely done boys.

Mozambique - Ill take cool songs that don't get played anymore for 600 alex..

Sand - Nice little groove machine, doesn't really stray far away but its totally on point.

Waste - I like this tune and its quite a way to end a first set.

Jibboo - Nothing too special but still real nice.

Ghost - Things start really coming together nice here.  Lots of peaks and awesome ambient rawk from all.

Taste - One of my more favorite Billy tracks played very well.

Brian and Robert - Soothing

Mikes - really gritty trey peaks in this and im fuckin loving it.

Simple -  Another well done version, it hits spots.

Train Song - they was blurry and green outer space and between.....

Weekapaug - RIPFEST 99.  Shit rages.  Star spangled banner quote from trey, awesome.

La Grange - Love this cover. 



Cool show, has its moments.  Gin and ghost highlights.  B+
