when I 1st started listening to  , I remember one particular very melodic solo on a ballad and thought that Trey must have listened to Dickey Betts a lot.

His solo on Slave from The White Tape is all Dickey Betts.

Love that version. 


And also as much as I love this 20 yrs later Im just glad they stopped it before people tried to start wooing.  I swore it was gunna happen if that riff at the end kept going.

Just getting around to listening to this show for the first time.
For the most part I've been genuinely impressed with nearly everything I've heard from this tour up till now.

Isn't that always the case in 3.0?  I have yet to hear a good Split in this era of Phish.  Trey just doesn't have his former chops, that also applies to Maze, Taste and other rippers that now own him.

I disagree about Maze.  There have been some solid versions in 3.0.  Atlanta summer '12 comes to mind.
