Quote from: mistercharlie on November 21, 2024, 02:55:27 PMBootleg Gizzard Is a nice place to start for the live stuff. it's their bandcamp version of 'livephish'. The recent Detroit show is all acoustic and sick as hell!

The San Diego acoustic show was amazeballs!

Best band on the planet right now, hopefully I will see some of you at the fest in CO next year!

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Been so awesome to watch the tour unfold every night. They have been killing it. Pretty bummed I didn't pull the trigger on the Frost and SF but couldn't make it fit. Had the best time in Portland in Sept, one of the best KG shows I have seen. Should have gone to the Gorge. Hope they keep on this trajectory, they are really on a heater currently.

And it sold out SUPER fast! I snagged one right as I got the email from Levitation.
"I used to be 'with it', but then they changed what 'it' was and now what I'm with isn't 'it' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me"

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Dug the albums mention to me here.
Also listened to Ominum Gatherum before I saw it mentioned here and really dug that.  Gaia is my jam.  Are there any full albums of the stoner/doom vibe stuff?

Not to phish up the thread but came across this Gizz fan listening to Rift for the first time and orgasming.

Welcome to the Weirdo Swarm, Terry!

For more Stoner/Doom try PetroDragonic... It's pretty Doom-y. You may also dig Murder of the Universe. It's their doom-y 'audiobook'-like album. Pretty good, but you gotta listen to it all in one sitting, and it's better if you have a copy of the album, as it comes with an illustrated book to read along with.

For some harder, and I mean much harder, doom try Infest the Rats Nest, it's their 80's trash metal album. I played so much Tony Hawk listening to that album during the start of the covid lockdown!

Here's Dragon, from PetroDragonic:

From Gumboot Soup, the songs "Greenhouse Heat Death" and "The Great Chain of Being" are both in that doomy style.

Also "The Hungry Wolf of Fate" from K.G. and from its companion album L.W., the final track "K.G.L.W.".

Those two albums, along with Flying Microtonal Banana are explorations of Eastern microtonal tunings. They aren't exactly heavy from start to finish, but I'd say they're pretty dark and lean heavy a lot of the time.
I'd rather dwell in some dark holler where the sun refuses to shine, where the wild birds of heaven can't hear me when I whine.
