So the very first Billy Strings-less Billy Strings show took place last night!!

Ally's water broke shortly before the show and Billy flew home to Nashville to be there with her and the baby. Sadly, Nugs.net chose not to stream the BMFS-Less Billy Strings show! Even though the boys still played two sets with various guests, and even broke out Mr. Charlie!! I'm hoping the hear the uproar and stream tonights show.

Pretty cool that Billy's kid was born on the day his album came out.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

On a side note...

Yesterday my boss thought it was a Friday I had requested off, so I took it off and ate a gram of boomers to catch a small trip and enjoy my day while listen to the new album... then lo and behold he put the entire album on youtube with a trippy as hell lyric movie. This made my fuckin' day yesterday!

I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Super excited for tonight! Taking my mom to see her first Billy show! Then tomorrow night with the wife. Tonight I'm the driver, but tomorrow the wife is driving and leading, so I can have some boomers for the show!  :wtu:

Hot damn! Those were some good shows!! Had a blast in my 'almost floor' seats dancing with mom. Then last night the angle and height of the seats (and maybe the mushies) made me a seated dancer. That Home of the Red Fox -> Drifter's Escape! Tinfoil & Turmoil!! Then End of the Rainbow was a real ripper!!

Speaks to the timelessness and incredible beauty of the Grateful Dead's music

Dead and Co sucks but if it brings in beautiful women who might let me toss in the Boise 83 Franklins or the Hampton 81 Let it grow, I'm all for it.

Tonight was absolutely incredible. Best show I've seen in a long time.

I've never been in a quieter and more respectful crowd in my life. Wild with enthusiasm between songs but pin-drop quiet when the music called for it.

Audience was just in it. Fucking incredible.

Just got through watching it. You caught a special one, Dave, I loved the 'living room' set-up, and Royal on electric!

Thinking about seeing dude.  Why is renting out arenas like Rosemont Horizon but only using half?

Because he's spent a ton of money on a stage show that is designed for an arena and looks and sounds fantastic in an arena but he can't sell out an arena outside of Nashville. Plus the economics must work for the band, promoters, venues to do it this way. Rosemont is happy to have someone in there selling beer, etc.

I kinda love it. It makes the big place feel roomy. The new arena in Austin is designed for this. The upper-decks can be blocked by these large screens that come down from the ceiling making the place look and feel smaller than it is. He's played there a few times now in that configuration. It's awesome. The place is designed to handle so many people that the smaller crowd just makes everything smoother and easier. Makes for a great fan experience.

When he played our arena, he did a similar thing. And he's the only concert I've seen in there that didn't sound muddy as shit.
