Tom Verlaine and Television connected so many dots for me. I started as a classic rock > Grateful Dead guy. Punk didn't mean much to me when I was young. But discovering Television showed me that there were in-roads I could follow. So many great acts would not exist or sound remotely as they do were it not for what he and Richard Lloyd did.
