Back in my day I'd throw Joel a ticket a week before because it didn't require a bank loan.

The real treasures are the friends we meet in line to buy Dead tickets!

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

im glad i read the stuff from Trey before i noticed you said it wasnt real XD
-I'm still walkin', so i'm sure that I can dance-

I like that schedule.  Would rather have 8 sets in 4 days than in 3 days for sure.

LOL at $300/day for Foundation. That's how much it cost at AC and that included the concert. Wasn't even worth it either imo, I don't think I even went back after the first day (but used the VIP entrance for sure). Only way it would be worth it would be if it was raining, and then it would be ideal.

If this is love, I'm never going home..

Quote from: Eleanor MarsailI love you, daddy. Actually, I love all the people. Even the ones who I don't know their name.

Yeah spreading it out and adding another set is pretty solid. It's going to be hot during the day.
Single day tickets are on sale too now which I don't remember them doing for other fests so could just pop in for a night if you're close and busy on the weekend

any word on how this is selling?  or any of the summer shows for that matter? i've heard grumblings that it's low, but nothing official.  maybe they are doing night sets only for exactly what emay said.  to take advantage of single day walk up type sales.

it's a small sample size, but of my freind group, a lot of people can't swing alpine and deer creek in back to back weeeknds and they are all choosing deer creek.  i have a feeling we're in for a nice small crowd at alpine, which makes it a thousand times easier to navigate all aspects of that place.  i'm ready!

I'm not sure about any ticket sales. They'll seem full when it comes to show time once the circus comes to town. There's no instant demand since there's no real desired venues this tour. They'll all sell well closer to show time. It's a lot of recycled places with pretty big local markets.

For the festival; They can tailor that venue to any size crowd so they are probably trying to get most accurate number for amenities and such and how to arrange it logistically. That's why they had that email to sign up if you plan to go. Probably be around 30-40k.
So do people that get a Saturday ticket get 3 sets technically and just have to hang around in the festival grounds after the show? I haven't looked at prices to see if any day is a diff price.

It was nice having a little break to relax at campsite inbetween the daytime set and before secret set but I think 30-40% of the fans are staying a mile away at the casino and hotels so it might be more of pain for them to get back and forth in a timely manner. By the time youre at your room and lay down you prob have like 45 mins before you get up n get back in line for shuttles to make it to festival grounds and get a spot.

I didn't consider that close to half the people will be off site, so that does make a big diff on the 3 set days. That's a long day if you don't have shade/shelter to retreat to. Plus, kids these days are pussies so...

Back in my day we'd nap in a mudpit on a headful between sets.

We had to convince one of our crew at Coventry to please not take a nap between sets in the obvious run off from the portos.
Speaks to the timelessness and incredible beauty of the Grateful Dead's music

Dead and Co sucks but if it brings in beautiful women who might let me toss in the Boise 83 Franklins or the Hampton 81 Let it grow, I'm all for it.

Just get the $300/day foundation add-on and problem solved!   ::)

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.
