I really like it. Production sounds great and lots of cool sounds and a good departure from previous material that I think shows growth. It's not all good but I really dig the 4 songs they had already released. Pillow Jets jam is great. Really dug Monsters.  To each their own, not everyone likes the new direction but I think it's one of the best albums they have done. Admittedly, I'm a fan boy and a fluffer but I listened to it a lot and dig the majority of it.

PIE-GUY

I kinda hate that it was released on the same day as the new Billy Strings live album. It's long AF and I've already been through it 3 times. I've only listened to the phish album once so far.

And tomorrow I'll be listening to WTF!!!
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

I'm enjoying the album. Been through it a couple times so far and it's not like it's my favorite thing they've ever done, but I'm into it. Played it for my dad on a drive and he loved it.
I'd rather dwell in some dark holler where the sun refuses to shine, where the wild birds of heaven can't hear me when I whine.

Hicks

Waited for my vinyl to arrive today before I listened and I have to say, it's not too shabby! The production/sound is really very lush and Mike in particular sounds great, reinforcing my opinion that bringing Vance Powell into the fold was a wise move. I still get annoyed at how they sweeten the vocals with an autotune-like effect now, but it's actually not as overbearing as it has been on some of their other recent albums. The songs work well for the most part and I agree that the string arrangements complement them nicely. I also really liked the production on Lonely Trip, which had turned into my go to piss break song as of late. I think the studio version gives me a new appreciation for it. I felt a connection with Mercy at the Sphere, so it works well as a closing contemplative moment for me here. The album is definitely improved by the inclusion of The Well on the vinyl release, kind of head scratcher that they are leaving it off of the CD and digital release. My Pillow Jets pressing sounds very good too and is fairly quiet for splatter vinyl.

In short, it's not as good as Sigma Oasis, but surely quite a bit better than the low point of Big Boat. I'd place it somewhere near Fuego in the pantheon of Phish studio albums.

Also, Ether Edge still sucks, fuck that song.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.
