Judge places Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson in conservatorship

A judge found Thursday that Beach Boys founder and music luminary Brian Wilson should be in a court conservatorship to manage his personal and medical decisions because of what his doctor calls a "major neurocognitive disorder".At a hearing, Los Angeles superior court judge Gus T May approved the petition filed by the 81-year-old Wilson's family and inner circle after the death of his wife in January, Melinda Ledbetter Wilson, who handled most of his tasks and affairs.

Somehow I knew that the one time I got to see him perform with the Beach Boys at Jazzfest it would be a once in a lifetime thing.

I saw him at the Paradiso in Amsterdam on July 6, 2009. Two sets, 37 songs. He had the audience in the palm of his hands.

i mean....   this seems pretty reasonable?  It sucks, but if he can't make informed choices and can't take care of himself, then this is how this shit has to go sometimes.  End of life always sucks.  My best friend's dad is going through dementia right now.  It's awful.
