Quote from: sunrisevt on November 04, 2022, 12:23:37 AMNothing like the impact of a hurricane type disaster, but damn is it spooky--we haven't had a real frost yet this fall, and no rain either. Like 6 straight weeks of dry warm sunny weather. In late fall in Vermont, what the actual living fuck. I'm honestly kinda weirded out.

I was just talking about this with friends. It feels so weird to have back to back to back 20+ (70+ F) degree days in November. And the forecast doesn't look like it will let up for the next week +.
Legit has never happened in our lifetime here in Atlantic Canada. It does not bode well for an early start to the ski season.

Sames here in the Midwest.  The weather has been absolutely perfect for about 7 weeks now.  This global warming thing is right up my alley...j/k
It is very strange to have all the windows in the house open in November and have it be kinda hot.

It's 75o in Indy right now.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

It was oddly warmish until two days ago and then we just got a half inch of snow last night.

don't know if it's the warm temps or the dry summer we had, but the coloring of the fall leaves were some of the best too.  at certain parts of the day it was glowing inside my house from the sun hitting the surrounding trees.

OK, so I thought our fall foliage in VT was a little less colorful than normal, but I'm not putting money behind that assessment.

But the weirdly hot fall continued until this afternoon -- last few days were cloudy and humid with highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 60s. But today's seen the clouds push off behind strong, steady winds, clear skies, and plummeting heat & humidity. 70 degree high today, predicted high of 45 tomorrow, followed by a true killing frost.

All at once.

With a total lunar eclipse on election day tomorrow.

I wish I had more ammo. [j/k I trust my neighbors]

Getting cold... fucking fast!

I've been coming to where I am from the get go

Same just happened in Indy. We went from 34o to 15o in an hour. Tonight's low is currently predicted to be -11o.

And there was 'snow thunder'!

I don't know if that's what it's really called, but that's sure as shit what it sounded like. The snow/rain came down so fast and hard that with the crazy ass wind it was setting off both our Ring doorbell camera and backyard floodlight camera constantly.

Thunder snow is one of my favorites!  Tried the enjoy the storm yesterday, but once the temp really dropped my beer kept freezing solid and the butane in my lighter actually froze!

Need a coozie to keep your beer warm?

It's so cold in Chicago tonight, Jussie Smollett might get jumped by some MAGA goons.

A+
Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

emay

Haha I'll be in Chicago next week!
But yeah it was brutal here last couple days. -14 think lowest I saw on the weather app.
Got like 2/3 inches. My moms flight got cancelled here, Baltimore got the storm today.  hopefully she makes it tomorrow.

mistercharlie

We only got maybe an inch here, but there's ice under it and the wind is killer. Thankfully I only have to go the the grocery store, 3 blocks away, and my mother-in-laws, 2 blocks away, for the next three days. Gonna stay nice and warm inside the rest of the weekend.
