I would watch Rbt Pattinson in a limo.

Spider has been on my list for a while.

Naked Lunch is a great title, one I've always been aware of.

Crash, I will emphasize, is basically a soft-core porno film, albeit the strangest and most unsettling you'll ever see, with genuinely exciting stunt-car action, and I'm pretty pleased that I finally watched it after wanting to for 25 years.

Great film! Clever, funny, dazzling, human. Highly recommended.

Tons of plot holes, but it's a fun watch with pretty good dialogue.

New dragon ball z movie was pretty good
More fighting than I thought

I saw Top Gun Maverick last night. The aerial footage is simply amazing. I rewatched the original last month, and as impressive and groundbreaking as that one was, the new one takes things to a spectacular next level. Go see it in the theater. You'll be glad you did.

Moonage Daydream. Could have been twice as long at least.

Prey. The Predator film. It's surprisingly entertaining and not bad.

Also, "Confess, Fletch" starring Jon Hamm as Fletch is pretty good.

I can co-sign Prey as being pretty good. We watched it in the Comanche dub at the suggestion of my friend and fellow viewer, a registered member of the Comanche tribe in Oklahoma!

Just watched this doc on the effects guy Phil Tippett (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, lots of others). If you've been aware of him for a long time as I have, and/or if you're a fan of VFX or movie history in general, you might enjoy it.

Cool, didn't know that existed. He's the man, alright. Have you watched his lifelong project that just came out, Mad God? It's stop motion, which is awesome, and really, really aggressively bleak. Which is less awesome. It's like the grimmest parts of a Gilliam movie, with none of the whimsy. If you're interested in Tippett, it's worth investigating, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

I do want to see Mad God, having learned of it from this documentary. I was thinking of suggesting it for this movie-viewing group I'm in. We tend to watch interesting stuff (about 20 people in a friend's home theater). Do you think it's a risky pick, say for a group of movie fans who may or may not know Tippett?

On Saturday night the wife and I wanted a cheesy-bad horror movie to watch and do our 'MST3K-eque' making fun of it. We stumbled upon Frankenhooker, a Troma movie from 1990. It was cheesy as hell and pretty damned funny to make fun of throughout. I had an edible and was laughing my ass off the whole time. It's free to watch if you have Peacock.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

I'd say yeah, it is a risky pick. The people I know who saw it are all waaay into stop-motion and trippy shit, and everyone came away with kind of a "ehh, that didn't quite work, and was unpleasant to boot" opionion. If the group is deeply into horror and grossness and doesn't mind a lack of a story and will watch anything stop-motion, you're good to go. Otherwise, maybe not.

I haven't seen that in forever, but loved it when it came out. By the famed director of Basket Case, if you need a follow-up. As for making fun of it, keep in mind that nothing hilarious in that movie is by accident. You're supposed to be laughing your ass off.
