Nice! Yeah, this guy I know who played keys with Family Tree is now playing with them, and has sort of taken them into a more jam oriented direction, still based in bluegrass, but last time I saw them, they were pushing out towards the untz universe during some songs....anyhow, I'm curious to see them tonight and see where they're at now.

I'm tempted to see ZZ top, the tickets were on sale when I was at school though so I don't have any yet.

Oh fuck, I just found out ZZ Top is playing with Wide Mouth Mason... Now I'm going for sure.

I saw them play a free show in 1999 on the patio at a bar at Sunshine in Banff.  Great afternoon treat while we stopped boarding for a beer.  They are a pretty talented band but I didn't like the direction they went with their music after that.  Trying too hard to get radio play.

ZZTop puts on a great show to this day... they really do.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

By the way, I was referring to Wide Mouth Mason in my post below.

I saw ZZ Top in 98 or 99 and they were great.  Was a crazy night getting stranded at the show.  Had to call my wife to come pick us up at 3 am.  She was less than impressed as we were pretty blitzed on mushies  :-D

Not to gloat even more, but I just checked it out on the ABB site, and it's the Auditorium, not the Coliseum.  That means 2550 capacity instead of the 12k Arena.

Holy shit, I'm floating as I think about this.
