Vegas should be off limits at least for the first few tours

...or years.

Horseshit.  They should comeback to Vegas and burn the Thomas & Mack to the ground.  There's no way they'll avoid Vegas.  It's too much of a draw for fans from all regions.

And that's my unbiased "hi I live close to Las Vegas" opinion.  :-D

So it's OK for Trey to go on tour, but not go to Vegas?

The temptations of drugs on Phish tour won't be a problem, but going to Vegas will?

Time to re-think this early comeback people, the guy has been out of rehab for a few months.

So some of you people think that Trey is more likely to relapse in Vegas than anywhere else...I'm not so sure I totally agree with that theory...The temptation is going to be there for Trey nearly on a continuous basis for long while, almost no matter where they play...You don't think a 4 show NYE stint at MSG will have the same drug awareness as Vegas...I would think it would have more, NYC is one of the biggest drug capitals of the U.S., probably even more so than Vegas...I really just hope Trey comes back for the music and relishes in the vibe of being back on stage with Phish and I'm sure Mike, Fishman and Page are going to look after him abit to make sure he stays in clean...Lets all keep our fingures crossed for a return with a more positive ora around it than the last and hope they're doing it because they feel great joy from playing with each other again...

It's a fucking Phish song, some of them are very complex compositions, some are not.

This one with its complex vocal arrangement falls right in between.
But that and a hook aren't enough so I'll let Trey know his songs have to start giving out handys." RJ

you know...  I think thats right.  I donno...  it just sort of seems logical, though, that Vegas would pose a bigger risk for Trey, being in the state he's likely to be.  Even 2 or 3 years into sobriety...  you're still vulnerable to all kinds of vices.  And since gambling is still just as powerful addiction, getting one foot in the door is all that it takes.

i was on a cruise a few weeks ago, and they had a casino.  They also had a blackjack table where they played with JUST ONE deck.  One fucking deck!!  How fucking easy!!!  Like...  people were throwing down $100 for one hand and winning....  it was absurd.  Anyway...  I played, and its fucking unbelievable how quickly that urge can take over your judgement...  being up $50 isn't enough...  being up $80 isn't enough.  I can keep winning!!  This is so easy!!  Then, wham.  You're back to even after losing 8 straight hands, etc.  Its ridiculous.

but yeah, anyway...  that bit about the rest of the guys protecting Trey, I'm not so sure about that.  They didn't seem to have any impact before, and unless they've gotten a bit of the Al-Anon shpiel, I don't think they would be much of a factor.  Of course I could be dead wrong.  I think, though, that Trey is wise-enough to realize how quickly it'll all go downhill if he takes that one taste, for free.....

I don't think it's only Trey's sobriety we need to consider. The rest of the band memebers aren't exactly a bunch of boy scouts. I do have faith they have all seen the light and realize music is the best high of all.

werd, I believe Page got in a bit over his head too.

I'd love to hit some more Phish shows, but if it jeopardizes the health of the bandmembers then it's just not worth it.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

It reminds me of something Trey said after being busted.  He commented on how no one in the organization said anything or made an attempt to stop him because he was paying their salaries.  He even compared it to Jerry and how so many people were counting on him to make ends meat it would have been uncomfortable to have to step in and try and change things.

The fact is the only person who can keep Trey sober is Trey.  If he wants to, he will.  I, for one, hope he makes the right choice.

I don't want them to play Vegas because that means I would be going to Vegas. That's one place I never need to be again.

Back on topic though, I like the Forbin's>Mockingbird meself. Or if it's just one then Mockingbird. Prob one of my favorite compositions from them.
