Jesus

I was trying to stay up but kept going in and out throughout the second set. Finally gave in and went to bed at Steam but I put my headphones on just in case. Heard 2001 but was out again by the start of Tweezer. I woke up a bit later, took off the headphones and crashed for good, but my very last thought was "holy shit was that Harpua?!?" Thank god for On Demand. Can't wait to watch that third set later.

The first set was kinda rough for me so overall (for what I heard) I think the first night was played better. But I'll fully grant that the epic factor on this one is gonna be through the goddamned roof.

Thank you, Phish, for an amazing summer and for reinspiring a lot of people (including yours truly) who thought the lights had gone out for this band.

Holy smokes, so stoked for those in attendance, this summer blew the roof off my expectations. I just feel sorry for anyone who bailed at the beginning of tweeprise!

Missed the stream but seriously look forward to watching this 2nd set/encore.

Bailing on watching the TV with the wife and watching the stream of the second half of the second set and encore was the best decision I've made in a while.

Thank you Phish!

Totally agree. Almost started tearing up hearing Trey thank US. Just shows how much we are all in this together. Then the lyrics to United We Stand were perfect sentiments. This summer starting with FTW to one of the best Phish tours in history, I couldn't be happier for the band, the fans, and the future of this band. THANK YOU!

Once In A Lifetime was indeed rough, but I think they could easily tighten it up with a little work. Probably a long shot but I'd love to see them play it more.

Great, terrific, ascending melodic jam out of Disease. Piper hit on a similar theme. I wouldn't quite call The Horse forced but it occurred to me that maybe sometimes it was better when Silent went Horseless, which can be quite jarring at times.

My immediate thought upon the Tweeprise encore was they must've hit curfew. Oh, Harpua. Curfew = NOPE. After Midnight? I yanked my wife up off the couch and we got the fuck down in our living room. For all the talk about the Phish 1% et al in the wake of the Mexico announcement, and what I took to be the intentionally excessively sentimental speech, I thought the capper was perfect. I love the commitment to inside humor this band demonstrates. And the commitment to sharting on your expectations.

I did indeed.

Kinda had a weird night personally and was underwhelmed with most of the show other than the encore. They just didn't seem on to me, compared to Magnaball at least. That keyboard kavarly was worth the price of admission alone though so I was a happy camper by the end of the show. Never thought I'd catch one of those. And Landlady?! Wtf?!

I was stuck in the stands for the first set and just felt completely disconnected from the music. Sound was atrocious IMO. Also, strangely low energy in the crowd. Everyone just seemed stoned as shit. Or maybe it was just me?

Personally I thought the whole show was great.  Not on the level as magna/mann etc but whatever.

For me it had the x factor and the second set was pretty loose with a fantastic Carini.  Definitely my favorite show of the three even without considering the encore.

Let's be honest, this Disease jam starts out pretty rough. But that ascending melody in the second half is pretty much pure Phish crack.

They could have omitted Steam (which I don't really care much for anyway) and allotted that time to Carini/Piper and likewise done without Horse/Silent for the benefit of Tweezer and this set would have been a real monster.

Yeah they definitely stretched the intro a little and put some extra funk in that 2001's trunk.

Beside Steam, which was "fine", and the premature Horse, that second set was all killer no filler IMO.  End of DWD brought it, Carini was killer and Tweezer was fun too.

I didn't even get one! i know someone who did tho.

I enjoyed this show a lot, quite fun. Regarding the crowd I thought the Dick's crowd was as high energy as ever and didnt notice anything different. The sound was good in the stands if you got in front of a stack, i find a good spot in section 113-114.

The whole run didnt have that Dick's madness feel up until the THANKYOU encore. I think friday night was very good and saturday had its moments. Sunday also had its moments, i liked where the disease went. Overall a great summer for phish and i hope they can continue this momentum.

I thought first set the first night had some good energy and the second set on Saturday. But yeah overall the rage was a little lower, def more stoned people.
I was tired by sunday encore too but was still ragin that encore hard in the stands stopped about halfway up on the walk out before the encore, luckily didnt walk out during tweeprise.
Sound wasnt bad where I was around 106. I think those back corner sections are pretty rough on the sound. Esp if the wind starts kicking up.

Colorado'd

didn't have the long jamz like other shows this summer, but they were all well played.
Ok, I would have liked Tweezer to be longer, but, like everyone else said, the encore just blew everything out of the water

That place was infinitely cooler to see phish at than Dick's.

I'm sure the extra 20k seats at Divks would argue otherwise for Phish Co. Though...

I wish, it reminds me of UIC a little. Intimate/small box shaped venue. Sweaty and packed. good place to see da phish.
that being said, yeah they would probably choose Pepsi Center over 1rst bank just for the ticket sales. Pepsi center sound is pretty shitty, but not the worst.

Yep, reminds me of UIC too. Similar size I believe.

Plus that would open up the possibility of fall shows in CO...

Just curious, did anyone in attendance get handed a report card?

I did not

:?

Nor I. Why do you ask, pray tell?

My crew at magna was all about this idea about handing out report cards to each other for failings or successes for awesomeness, and my buddy printed up a bunch to hand out at dicks to people doing phish right. thats all.

finally getting around to listening to some of these dicks shows.

first off, i've seen this bandied about at various places, but i find it criminal that anyone would compare this DWD to the went gin.  this disease is rather blah to me.

there are a couple (maybe 3) minutes right at the end that have a nice little bliss jam ... but frankly, if i was the went gin, i'd be extremely offended!! EXTREMELY! the went gin is always used an a prime example of the "hose", and there is nothing close to hose in this disease..

honestly if this is a highlight from the weekend, i might stop listening now.  if this was played at magnaball, no one would even mention it.

obviously my .02, so take it fwiw

not the highlight at all

encore this show imo is highlight of this show.
but then Wolfmans > Blaze on > Golden Age from night 1 is the highlight of the run for me I think
CDT  in night 2

ok, so i just ran through the went gin again (wow, just wow ... collective hose! locked in!)...

and then the dicks dwd ... i can see the very slight similarities... but only from about 13 min - 16:30 min ... its collective jamming to be sure, but to me it never really reaches those peaks.  and everything leading up to 13 min is VERY mellow, which is nice on its own, but again to me, there isn't much in this disease.

about to spin the wolfmans->blaze->golden segment now.

The connection to the Went Gin is strictly on vibe, imo.

ok, good to know ... vibe wise, i feel, again, that the disease is VERY mellow up until the last couple minutes ... it grooves right along which is cool.

but the went gin ... that vibe makes me want to get out of my chair and dance!!

also, tbf, the audio quality of the disease on phishtracks is probably holding it back a little, especially against the sbd of the went gin

I don't want to downplay the quality of the last five minutes or so of this Disease, but equating it to the Went Gin is unfair to the former, insofar as we know very little can measure up to that Gin, whereas this DWD is still quite blissy and locked in and rewarding in its own right.

Oh, and I'm listening now and I agree the sound on phishtracks.com does it little justice. I can assure you the awesome was strong with this one whilst I pumped it from my system during the webcast last weekend.

agreed, 100%... and don't get me wrong, this disease is compelling on its own merit.

i had seen several references on both facebook & twitter, from various friends that this jam was reminiscent of the went gin ... which is the reason i sought to check it out.

Just realized that the end of this Disease is kinda/sorta the same chord progression as the Magnaball Tweezer jam.

Slightly different tempo and timing with the chords but they are both based around I Major > ii Minor > IV Major

I watched both those videos back to back and forgot I had switched vids during the tweezer!

just finishing up the DWD now, going to compare to the magna tweez next. I like where they are at the end of this jam, but def not the highlight of the weekend for me, its good but dont get all the hype its been getting as the best thing all weekend.

edit: heard it for a little while in there, tweezer def lifts off or "modulates" to more places than that DWD did. Would that jam part in tweezer be more of a "tonicization"?
