can someone clarify the on sale stuff for me? the first part i'm assuming is like preorder, but then the part that says tickets on sale to general public june 1st and then continuing june 2nd- i dont get that part. Like ar ethey only on sale for 2 days?
I'm not 100% but it could be different on sale times/dates like they did for the summer dates. Makes it easier to grab tickets for the shows you want vs fighting to get them all at the same time.
not a single New England date for summer or fall 2018. WTF?
edit: The last time they played anywhere in New England was July 9, 2016. bummer.
honestly i still cant get over ticket prices yall are paying these days.
like a 3 day hampton ticket is $250+ ?! wow.
every time i think i'll say fuck it and try to makea show the prices just really ruin the whole vibe for me, lol.
that being siad i still wanna go... might have to see how good a plane tick deal i can get first.
Bummin' I probably can't make Hampton again. Been itchin' to get back there since '09. Such a solid venue.
Halloween and Albany in like Flynn!!!
(Might have to get back down to Hampton.....haven't been back since '97.
Booked for Vegas! Don't think I can hang for 4 days in a row but 100% in for first two and likely the third too. Which of course will make the 4th a barn burner but I'm using up a lot of family goodwill with Curveball as it is. But I watched the kids when my wife went to Magna and the last Vegas Halloween so it's payback time motherfucker. Want to do Hampton but flights are $500 and long vs. $150 short hop to Vegas. Would also like to go to Nashville but that's probably pushing it for me. Gotta save some $ for NYE. People that are doing all of summer and fall are going to be some broke SOBs.

$85 for an arena show is cheap/reasonable these days. The majority of them end up going for half that as the show gets closer but Hampton will probably hold it's value. Last Vegas shows everyone panicked and when the shows rolled around the only ticket worth anything was Halloween night. Couldn't give away tickets for the first night.

yeah i dunno just changes how i feel about seeing bands personally. just my own thing though, not bashing the band or fans for the prices. i just enjoyed music scenes alot more when they were basically free or close to it.
though its also hard for me to think paying 4-5 times as much as i payed for the same band in their prime isnt weird too, but yeah if i wasnt poor i might not care as much about that.
Early announcement is great, some fun runs in there too.
We'll see where I stand after Portugal and Summer vacations but Albany may not be too much of a stretch. Hampton or Vegas would be amazing.

I lost nearly $3,000 last time Phish played Hampton, when I bought all those 3 day StubHub passes thinking I was buying them for AC Halloween. I then had a couple paugers take some off me for face, with the rest winding up in the Oak tree out front. Ticket Oak for the WIN. I'm sure you'll be able to get tix well below face SLim. Although this fall tour is short....

esp the Tweezer > My Left Toe jam.
Nassau came knocking...
That Albany '97 run is one of my all time favorites.
these are all excellent points

Any holds showing up for the Fall?
Pepsi/Knickerbocker Arena is my most attended venue. After the YEM in '95, I made a point to get up there as much as possible. Not that really makes any sense, but it seemed to at the time.

Are you suggesting that they didn't rehearse the Halloween album and other things directly after Trey's songwriting weekend with Tom? Or that my source for such implications may be unreliable?

Dudes digging the dark and evil phish! If anyone needs any death metal recommendations, I'll be patiently waiting in the Metal Thread.
Still only heard a small slice of this tour, but from what I've heard this is the best they've sounded to me in 3.0.
Just one man's opinion, but it really sounds like they've found 'It' again.
Like when that Simple jam breaks down to something real basic yet you can tell they are all REALLy listening to one another.
IDK, i only listen to a smidgen from each tour over the last few years but this is the best I've heard especially TRey and Fish get back altogether in the groove in a long time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-0gPCA8Xvc
yeah... this is my fav. tour of 3.0 hands down.
theres just something that finally sounds 'correct' to me between fish, trey and connecting to the rest of the guys.
not to be weird, but some guy in the comments for this vid. says "trey's back on the dope"... I dunno if i can say that, -in fact i'd wager against it, but there is def. something that finally sounds 'normal' to me that i havent heard since 2.0.
Only thing i can really pin down is that fish's energy is better to my ears and i've alwasy thought he was the root that fed trey, that feeds the whole connection for the rest of the band.
Regardless of the reason, and honestly dude looks healthy enough, i'm just loving how they sound right now.
09/10 were fun to be back going to shows, but this is def. the first tour that i've been sitting at home wishing i was in the room just for the music.

I agree with Slim on the playing though for sure. This is a different band. They have something cooking every night. I really enjoyed Frost last night, because they led it there naturally, and didn't just shit out a Caspian for the sake of a ballad.

yes, "Naturally" is what i'm talking about,
there is just something relaxed and confident about how they are interacting that i personally havent heard in ages.
all of 3.0 there have been times of great energy, but right now everything just feels "natural" and unfettered to me for once.

you'll ahve to forgive mea little, i don't get to actually go to shows anymore and get that post show glow where every show was the best ever.
When you only get to listen to it from home for so many years you actually just base your opinion on the music without all the buzz from teh atmosphere, and being completely honest i havent enjoyed alot of how theyve sounded for 3.0, but this tour i'm all in.
BTW someone's gonna have to make me a mix or something after this tour ends since i cant actually dl full shows.

This tour has been very good, but I'd have to disagree with BD being the turning point as summer 18 for the most part was very underwhelming.
They aren't quite at 2015 levels of x-factor, but they are approaching IT. All signs are pointing toward another epic Vegas run.

Completely agree with that. BD is my favorite run, including the 5 shows prior to it, they've put together since coming back in '09. I listen to it pretty much exclusively for 3.0 itches. This Fall is leaps and bounds better than the Summer. It's incredible really, the turn around.

Lots of first-set jamming nowadays, in response to our many requests.
HAs anyone else thought this tour might have something special having some relation to how the whole Watkins Glenn thing went down?
Not only can i imagine that the band had some deep feelings on the matter and could have put that energy to really kicking ass this tour, but also i was thinking how elaborate the Halloween set was really could have been a result of alot of time being out into it with probably so much wasted ideas for the Festi not seeing the light of day.
I would even say theres a possibility some of the music/theme from Halloween was originally conceived as a part of the Festi.
Mostly though i just have a feeling the band really wanted to show the fans this tour how invested they still are in the whole thing.

That's a lot of one timers.
Only one YEM, one Bowie, and one Piper all tour. Hm.

hell yeah
I'm putting this down for best tour of 3.0.
That excludes Baker's Dozen as a tour and, yes, I'm putting this above 2013 Fall.

I don't know where it ranks in terms of total tours (it's up there no doubt), but that Vegas run was for sure the best multi-night stand of 3.0 IMO.

I must concur good sir.
I don't consider the bakers dozen as a tour either. They were all good shows.
This tour seemed to have something about it that made me listen to every night, and capping it off with the Vegas run made it feel complete and well done.
Very pleased with where they are as a band. Now let's get a spring mini tour set and keep the rust at bay.
Think I still prefer Summer 2015, but this one is a close second.
great tour all around. Fall 13 was good too. And Bakers Dozen. That's my fav's. If only we had someone around here that did polls.
I don't remember Fall 13 being a standout. I'll need to go back and revisit. All I saw was AC, and I remember the Reading Disease and 20 Years Later, but not much else. I also saw the MSG run in December and all I remember is the Jemp set. AC was pretty awesome, but not as good as Summer '15 or anything from this Fall tour. I also really like a lot from Summer '12 leading up to and including Dicks.
O fall 2013 was a standout for sure.
Carini the first night of the tour opener in Hampton? Off the chain.
Set 2 night three of that run is straight fire. And then Worcester?
Looking back, I figure some of it was that they were jazzed about Wingsuit.

Last Phish I've seen and it really was solid start to finish.

Fall '13 was indeed the heat, nearly every show had out of the box improvisation. So many great jams.

Hah— wasn't that the one where we ran into each other in line for drinks during second set?
I did most of fall 13 and only really remember Reading, Hampton/AC Carini's, and getting too high on Halloween.
Summer '15 and Bakers dozen still are the two that stand out for me in the past 9 years. This fall was pretty hot too but I haven't listened to that much so...
Here's a solid reminder though...

Finally processing all these Vegas shows and the rest of the tour really.
10/31 was again ridiculous and so phishy. The dances, the songs, the jams, and the jokes.
My favorite night was probably Friday the 2nd but really all the nights have something special in them.
Really wish they capped the encore off with more of a bang on 11/3, it kinda sucked the energy out of the room even when people wanted more after 4 days in that crazy town. The cheers after Character0 were loud but abruptly stopped when the house lights illuminated what was left of the MGM grand arena.
This whole tour has been amazing. I need to give it all a re-listen but I really like where this band is at now. Wish I could make more shows like NYE or Mexico but its going to be a slow year for me in regards to Phish, as I wrap up Grad school and need to get serious about my portfolio. Cant wait to see where this band goes next year though, these NYE/Mexico runs are shaping up to be probably some of the best ones yet.

I think I said that last year (2017), but that was because Bakers D and still ended up doing 4 of those cuz well you know; they were on fire. And that Lawn Boy.
Its kinda hard to say that when we get 3 home town shows a year, but going to be traveling a lot less for Phish this summer at least.
This year I need to actually lower my credit card debt and get my Grad school shit together before I graduate out this bitch so I can have at least something to show for it. It probably just means less summer trips and more fall trips (fingers crossed), as long as there is fall tour.

You're a wook, Erik. I'll see you next summer.
Also, potentially moving to your hood! It's official, I'm trying to move out to Denver before Dick's next year (assuming it's happening)
But I'm gonna be in the same boat... maybe. I gotta save for this move. I loved this fall tour though! Had such a blast especially at Hampton (it being my first Mothership experience).

I heard a couple "odd couple" theme teases from Trey this tour actually (well, more like a reoccurring riff that sounds like the odd couple theme).
