But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

I thought the 24LP GD 72 Lyceum box set was a dumb idea... until I bought it.

I mean, there's probably not a full stand in their whole history that is more solid than that.  Pretty much the pinnacle imo

Everything's pretty solid as a 24LP box.

I love this set, so I had to grab it.  I already have a shipping notification for it!

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

The Black Friday RSD list is out now...

Still no Farmhouse repress in sight.  :'(

This is a great DP. I love the Help>Slip>Sampson>Slip>Franklin's that makes up the bulk of the second CD on the original release. Probably my favorite example of the Help>Slip>Franklin's sequence. That Help has some real bite in the first solo, the second Slip is pure musical bliss, and the Franklin's is just about perfect.

That whole St. Stephen>NFA>Stephen>Help>Slip>Drums>Samson>Slip>Franklins is what made me buy this set after swearing off buying big box sets. I just don't play them enough.

I hear ya. I'm not going to get it.

But maybe I'll drag out the cd and play it.

In this case, is ">" the symbol for "get up and flip the record over" ?

I was picking up a gift for a friend's bday this weekend and filled a couple gaps on my 'want list'.
Cake - Fashion Nugget
Coltrane - Lush Life

question-
my wife bought me the TTB 4 disc set for my b-day. It came with a mat. I never used one before, but figured maybe I should start.
Played it last night and it sounded great, except that there were repeats / skips on the last track on side 1 (we used to call them scratches). I disc looked perfectly fine. I cleaned it and the stylus again, same thing happened. Then I took off the mat and it played through perfectly fine.
Circumstance or did the extra 1/8 inch or so that the mat added affect the way the stylus went through the grooves?
TT is B&O Beogram 1800.

thanks

Buffalo Budd

Have you tried any other records with the slip mat?
Try a disc thinner than 180 gram.

Both things could be true. Mats are mostly useless/decorative and could definitely affect the TT setup.

Hicks

Yeah you'll need to adjust your tone arm height based on the added height of the mat.

There's plenty of videos on YouTube to help you with that.
