To open, or not to open? That is the question.

I got my VMP package yesterday and it had my Outkast - Stankonia, Monk - Palo Alto, and, The Budos Band - Long In The Tooth. The Budos band album is a pressing of 500 and my copy is #1. I always open and play my vinyl, that's the point of collecting. But I feel like #1 is special,  and I should buy another variant for opening and playing.

What's everyone's opinion on this?

Cool!  I would probably keep it wrapped up, but I know I am in the minority here.

Hicks

Nice dude! Nope wouldn't open that, I'd buy another copy to play.

But I'm deep into the vinyl addiction now, I've almost filled up a four cube Kallax since March.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

It's not the White Album, it's probably more like a Donruss 89 Gregg Jefferies.

I never buy sealed vinyl unless I can return it.

No sign of my Wildflower And All The Rest from amazon.ca, been playing MP3s all weekend.

I've gone through 2 full packs of 50 outer sleeves since March and my Discogs median value would buy a new SUV.  :-o

Hey Mr C, what is that 95 tour print you have under the album?

It's a sticker from Summer Tour '95, I can scan the whole sticker and post it when I get home. I found it, along with some of my older ticket stubs, inside of my old copy of Deadbase.

Here's the whole sticker on Dead.net:

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Heady jazz = high value.

I started playing around with Folders in my Discogs collection, so I can tell you that about 25% of the value of my collection is Grateful Dead.  The CD boxes like Spring 90 and May 77 were seemingly good investments.

Yet another new Blue Note release series...

Hicks can finally get Speak No Evil.

I own a bunch of these from Music Matters, which I won't upgrade.  I also have a number of these titles from the BN75 series which I may upgrade.

I wish they would have added these to the TP series, but still glad to be able to grab SNE and Song for My Father at reasonable prices.

Hope they do Emperyean Isles too.

There's a couple in there I may have to throw down for.

Not sure who controls the Impulse! catalog, they too can RE their stuff and make us jazz cats happy.
