I bumped into a friend before the show started and he told me about them opening with SSB on the mound. I got a good viewing spot but wish I had a better camera than my iPhone. I did have my good camera in my camera bag and the guy at the gate made me walk 10 minutes back to my car right before the gates opened because I wasn't allowed to bring it in... then as I am inside I see people everywhere with backpacks and camera/camera bags everywhere. wtf :samurai:

Yeah on the way to the Kenmore Square MBTA station, there must have been 10-15 tanks. Not only did was it ridiculous, it made it take 3 times as long as it should have to get to the subway because of the dealings and the crackheads sucking on balloons. I read in the Herald that the only arrest was of somebody selling Nitrous. It seems like with the amount of tanks that more should have been arrested.
The rainbow was cool, and everyone was taking pics of it.
The clouds breaking up and the sun coming out right in Trey's solo was amazing.
Their was a lot of video folks on stage, possible DVD? Maybe so maybe not, maybe just for the screens.
The lights in the nighttime pictures are amazing. Great light set-up too. Do they only have the ring of lights for outdoor venues?
I'm glad people got some good pics. I haven't gone through mine yet, but I remember the Camera guys in alot of them. :|

i leaned in front of the girl in between me and him and snapped that one.

saw a guy selling those on shakedown tuesday. pretty awesome.
Damn Jones Beach was fun...just got home. Can't wait for Alpine and the Gorge now, Phish is definitely back. Anyway, my buddy got one of these and glued it to his dash, now wherever he goes, Trey's jammin. Can't wait to see all 4 on the dashboard eventually... =)
Shawn - you can crop out that speaker stack from a ton of your GW shots and you'll have some pretty hot pics.
Yeah... but sick nonetheless. Thanks dude.

idk if they let u cuz we hide ours everytime.
w/out flash.

I'm still kicking myself for not bringing my camera to Hampton, not for band pix, but for all of the friend shots...

Sweet photos. I only took the crappier of my point & shoots in on 6/16 and only took it out a couple times during the show, for what I knew would be sucky shots and who wants to be distracted with that. Maybe I'll get something better into Alpine.

i was wondering the same thing.
i couldn't remember if they were up last time i was there in '97.
but either way, they were NOT on throughout the show.
we were hoping they would fire them up for the 2nd set but no dice...
Hrmmm...I did '97 & '00 but don't remember them those years.
Anyone that was at 'o3 that could shed some light?

agreed. "Bike? Hello My baby? Lets make Fish do something stupid...... Ready? BREAK!"
Nice pics 'lope! That was great when they were discussing what to do next and then all of a sudden Trey realized everyone could hear what they were saying, so they went back and huddled. Part of what makes Phish so great to me, the silliness.

Yes, and the top is a 12-string
During Frankenstien he only played the one neck.

I haven't even seen the 1 photo of me that was taken, let alone run into someone who was adjusting F-stops for the lightning. Those would be hella shots though, the sky looked sepia when it lit up.

^random crowd shot from row bb - I brought my Canon S3-IS in and being it was the first time I've used it in a while, I put it through some drills before the show. It had been giving me lens errors all over the place (as it continues to do), so I haven't been using it. I've been meaning to take it somewhere to get it taken apart and cleaned but I kind of doubt that'll fix it. Anyway, I hung it on the armrest of my seat and didn't let it interfere with my enjoyment of or attention to the show at all...

I think this might be one of the offical shots, but I found I found it while searching through Red Rocks pics, and thought it was awseome.

 So true.
Great shot - we held that spot down 2 nights in a row.
how do i put photos in a post as above, where they aren't attachments but are just THERE?
never did figure that out...
Also notice, unlike the photo of Hampton, that there is a much larger percentage of female phans in this pic. Much better representation of the crowd.

I never take a camera into a show, but figured I might as well sneak the DSLR into one night at Red Rocks just for a few. I only took it out twice during the show, and then I just take 10 shot bursts about 10 times each. From row 10, Sunday night.

ya, homer had to be a fan. he walked thru the crowd from one side to the other.
he'd dip Homie down just close enough where people would try to grab him, then he'd yank it away real quick.\
and the funny part about Mickey, is that he and his crew were from Cape Cod.
so many small world stories from red rocks to the gorge, it was crazy!
..just another day on tour i guess.

Because you moved the camera while the shutter was open.

but it seemed like it only was the pics i took after dark, and i was holding it as still as fucking possible. i even went and found jedi to have him take one to make sure it wasnt just me shaking...
In low light the shutter has to stay open for longer.
Without a tripod and a perfectly still subject, it's tough to take non-blurry night shots.

WOW, those two pics are stunning however I can't seem to save them as they are. When I save the file and then re-open in there is just a line of color across the screen. HELP. Too bad there are not two more shots just at sunset or night even from the same vantage.

There I was, just standing there, enjoying the pre-show lot activities, when I swear, it seemed like the sun might have fallen from the sky, and landed right there in the lot next to me. I tried to avert my eyes, but my legs were drawn like magnets to the scene, the sheer awesomeness of what lay around the corner was difficult to make out, but by squinting my eyes, and looking at a reflection in a pool of water, this is what I saw. I don't know what type of film you used to capture that awesomeness there but it must have been provided by NASA. I sincerely hope your camera is ok, and the power presented there didn't damage the lens. Only one word could even describe that moment: EPIC!
simply stunning.

Yeah, the fella I was travelling with this past week had fallen asleep for the 3rd set of both nights of Coventry. Once on his feet, other time he laid in the mud. We tried to wake him but their was no way. We had picked him up from his night shift to leave for the shows and then got stuck on the highway for 40 hrs so the poor guy hadn't slept in days.
i fell asleep in stopped traffic driving (who hasn't?) on the way into IT.
on this most recent tour walking next to traffic, i saw the same thing happening to another driver.
i gave his car a hardy 2 hand slap on his hood to wake him up.
his reaction was priceless.

some pictures i took with my cell-phone from me and my friend lizmo's journery (brooklyn>darien>hartford) can be viewed here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41557613@N06/sets/72157621933238047/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/41557613@N06/sets/72157621933238047/)
also, we had to catch a ride from brooklyn to darien with some horrible wook. my friend posted the details of this teeth-gritting experience on the phantasy tour message boards here: http://phantasytour.com/phish/boards_thread.cgi?threadID=2001376 (http://phantasytour.com/phish/boards_thread.cgi?threadID=2001376). you have to go the first page to begin reading it and the thread exploded with responses, but it's a good story nonetheless. enjoy!

Crowd Control. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Nah, it had to be in the second set cuz thats when he made it down by us. Based on where the pic is in the sequence from my camera, I would guess Tweezer since it's so early after the pics of Blatboom napping on the lawn at setbreak.

Yep. He offered me a mixed drink or beer or something but I'd already passed away a beer that I didn't need (driving.) eventually the lemonade he had (in his third fist) came my way to stay.
I will thank him for the lemonade. I didn't realize he was triple fisting during the show.....that explains a few things. :-D

Nice work! This was my second or third attempt at this and I am pleased with the outcome. I have realized that it's not meant for all pictures. I am in the process of putting together a small collage of pictures for a wall in my house from trips and such over the last couple of years. I think this one may make the cut. We'll see.

It's a ball cap, not a mortar board.
HAHAHAHAAH! TOTALLY! I don't get the appeal of leaving stickers on ball caps. It's a fucking hat...
how else are you supposed to know it's fresh?
It's not a fucking salad, it's a hat.
:beers:

I can't think of a situation where I might be inclined to wear that hat...
^^ Yes, you leave the sticker on. And it's a good luck hat for playing the slots at the casino! Everyone knows that.

This thread hasn't seen any action in a while. Maybe some of the new kids have some they'd like to share. Here's some I took at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL - August 11, 2009
pre-show inside Toyota Park

From Sec 104 Row 12, which, as it turns out, is not all that close to the stage.

Cool pictures! That's quite an overhang there. Looks like that's part of the Toyota Park setup, right? I was never close enough this summer to get a real good look. They didn't have that going on everywhere else, did they?
That is definitely park of Toyota Park there. The first thing I thought when I saw it was that it kind of dwarfs the stage. Also, the lighting rig seemed like maybe it was set a little further back than usual, and I don't think the lights could pan all the way up the back of the bowl that well- the place was pretty huge.
I totally lol'd when, after the lights came on for set break, they lit up the big TOYOTA PARK thing on the thing over the stage. Thanks, TOYOTA PARK. I almost forgot I was seeing Phish at TOYOTA PARK!

TOYOTA PARK!
[edit to add: notice the lighting rig operation during the setbreak. seemed like testing/adjustment was happening for most of it. setbreak music was Beck - Sea Change]
dude finds his car in my flickr photos from alpine while googling phish:
