Lawrence of Arabia vs. Scarface ('83)
"how you gonna get a scar like this eating pussy?"
Witty profanity ain't got shit on this David Lean masterpiece.
T.E. Lawrence: I killed two people. One was... yesterday? He was just a boy and I led him into quicksand. The other was... well, before Aqaba. I had to execute him with my pistol, and there was something about it that I didn't like.
General Allenby: That's to be expected.
T.E. Lawrence: No, something else.
General Allenby: Well, then let it be a lesson.
T.E. Lawrence: No... something else.
General Allenby: What then?
T.E. Lawrence: I enjoyed it.
:-o
scarface? are you maniacs kidding?
go watch Lawrence. it will blow your mind.
T.E. Lawrence took shits more awesome than Scarface.
watching Scarface is like watching Oliver Stone and Al Pacino jerk off on each other for two hours.

And throw De Palma in there to eat the toast.
can't say i've ever seen lawrence of arabia, and scarface is a pile of dogshit, so i'm not voting.
Having never seen Lawrence of Arabia and not knowing much about it, this was not the discussion I was expecting. Now I'm intrigued...
Lawrence is perhaps my all time favorite movie (depends on the day, i guess).
if you're imagining it's some long, slow, old-timey 'epic', you are in for a big surprise.
there is no other movie like it.
it's 3:20 long, but the first half before intermission, which is about 2:20, goes by so fast you'll think it took 90 minutes.
it is really just amazing in every way.
the first time i saw it was in my early 20s, at the CineramaDome in LA, where it played for a week. i was so blown away that i went back two nights later to see it again.
Scarface is a flaming pile of shit as a film. I absolutely hated scarface. i dont know why people like this piece of shit movie, and why it is being chosen of a fantastic film,
LOL!! I 'm actually so impressed by you all right now that I'm laughing.
I thought this was going to be a run away Scarface.
That movie blows, and Lawrence Of Arabia is so, so good.
wow really close! Scarface should win on principal alone.

You mean it's lack thereof?
Scarface is a tedious movie about a guy that isn't even likable.
Lawrence of Arabia is pretty much the opposite.

and its so overacted by pacino that its laughable.
I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia, so I think I'm going to watch it tomorrow and make my vote then.
Although I think Scarface is pretty good movie, I have always felt like it was indeed a bit overrated.
Love that one moonlit desert scene from Lawrence.
I like Scarface's soundtrack.
i find it suspicious that no one who voted for scarface is speaking up about it.
or telling.

My guess is that a good portion of the Scarface voters have never seen Lawrence of Arabia.

yeah i really wanna hear why one would chose scarface over Lawrence of Arabia.
Interesting fact about Lawrence of Arabia: there are no women with credited speaking roles.
there's a reason for that.
women or no women, laurence of Arabia was a classic.
easiest decision so far

Who needs talking?
A tie...interesting
looks like order is being restored in the universe...Lawrence pulls ahead!
now, if it was up against Howard Hawks's '32 version of Scarface, we'd at least have something to argue about. that movie is badass.
I voted Scarface.
I tried watching Lawrence of Arabia a couple of times. About as interesting as TTE.
