yeah, but same thing happens here that happens there - some people shovel, some dont.  those that dont get shoveled eventually get packed down and slick, or they go through freeze/thaw cycles and get slick.  if the snow is over the shoes on the sidewalk, its a treadmill day anyway.  but in our neighborhood, it doesnt take long for the sidewalks that go unshoveled to get packed in and slick, esp when the top layer gets hoary and faceted and then packed down.

You guys know the rule... If you weren't there, it wasn't anything special...

Threw down a 1:44 in the Grimsby Half-Marathon this morning without really pushing too hard.

I had fun, it was a small race and the first race of the season so it was a positive experience.

Next up, "Around the Bay" 30K at the end of March.

Is it bad that I want to air guitar while running on the tread mill when there are other people around?

I do it too, especially to Run Like An Antelope.

I run a lot of races, and I usually only focus on one of them for fundraising.  This is not one of them, but...

I'll be running 30K on Sunday March 28 and if anyone was looking to donate some money to a good cause, feel free to donate here:

On Sunday March 28, 2010 I'll be participating in the 116th Around the Bay Road Race in support of St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation. The staff at St. Joe's go the extra mile for the patients they serve each and every day. Now, it's our turn!

The thermometer on the left tracks my fundraising and I'm hoping you'll help me raise the bar all the way to the top! Together we can watch the thermometer climb...and our spirits will climb too because we know that each and every dollar raised will touch the lives of countless patients at St. Joe's!

Thanks for your support! Come out to Copps Coliseum on Sunday March 28, 2010 and watch me cross the finish line. We can celebrate going the extra mile to support St. Joseph's!

Good luck tomorrow Matt. I just knocked out 12 this AM in 81 minutes. Right on target for running sub-1:30 in my 1/2 marathon in 5 weeks. Nice to get some longer runs in and still feel strong.

I love what the band did in Sand.  Those last 12-13 minutes were ACE, Tom Ace.  If I were drinking from the toilet, I might have been killed.

Bouncin' - after all that, fuck they could have kicked their instruments in the face and I would have loved to eat some ice cream.

That's an awesome goal Play_It_Leo - you can do it!

I'm working on the 3:30 marathon, hopefully one of the 2 I run in 2010.

Today went well, I was on pace at 10km, 15km and then I started to fall off.  By 20km I was 90 seconds off and the course had some killer hills over the last 1/3, when all was said in done I finished at 2:36:00 - not sure if I had more to give but I certainly didn't kill myself over last 10km in an attempt to finish any faster.

Around The Bay is one of the oldest Road Races in North America, and it finishes inside Copps Coliseum - very cool.

Next races - Harry's 8K on Saturday then 4/19 Montreal Half-Marathon where I will push to beat my PB of 1:38:56.

My wife just ran the St. Louis 1/2 Marathon this AM. Finished at 2:02 which is her personal record! I pushed the kids around St. Louis in our jogging stroller and had a blast. Got me pumped up for my 1/2 in 3 weeks.

Nobes

Just did my first 1/2 marathon in Burlington, VT yesterday. 2:01:57. I was happy just finishing. My right hip felt like it was going to explode from mile 11 on. Kill Devil Falls and BDTNL helped me immensely, but Born in the U.S.A. live kicked my ass into finishing those last 2.1 miles.

Great job Nobes & wife of PIL, I've got the Montreal Half-Marathon on tap for next weekend.
