Honestly, hard to even call it a bummer the way things turned out. It was intense, unique, surprising, fun. We all had high hopes for N2 after the musical bummer that was N1 (although at least the grass was dry and the weather was beautiful), and things were going pretty well in that regard, and we did get some quality jamming out of CDT and Oblivion. You can't control Mother Nature--always a humbling lesson to be reminded of--but watching the band refuse to yield to her was truly a sight to see. Definitely one of the more pronounced dramatic arcs to any day or run of Phish I've been on. We dried off at the rental house and immediately drank a bottle of fine champagne.
Is this still Wombat?

rowjimmy

welp... Can we lock this thread or what?
Phish is here. they've been here for a while and they are kicking ass.

I mean, if you like the love and light material, you've gotta be on the fucking moon right now. And if you don't, there's still plenty to keep you interested night after night. this Summer tour had a little thing I like to call consistency.

That's the thing that was elusive in the mid-3.0 days.

Indeed! Great shows at the garden every night. Caught 5 of the 7. Many highlights.

Hicks

Don't call it a comeback, they've been here for years.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

don't lock the thread!

I thought we all loved when someone gets all mahl'd out and posts here after a show??
If this is love, I'm never going home..

I was joking to make a point, man.

Yooooo! The chaldust tonight was the real deal! Yeah boys!  :pbjtime:
Bring in the dude!

anthrax

i feel like they are using mexico as a warm up for the sphere where they'll just basically jam the entire run.

5th Longest tune of all time last night with that Chalk Dust. And it's good.
Longest Chalk Dust to date, as well.
8th longest tune of all time on Thursday with Wave of Hope.
Also good.

Also, both shows hold up as whole shows.

cactusfan

Axilla II is the shit.
Loved Wave of Hope too, and Birds, and that whole second set, really.
Haven't heard the chalkdust yet.

Hole-E Fawk! That's some hot shit!!!

The wife is out, so I threw the show on the big screen through the good system and danced my ass off! That CDT is something otherworldly! Watching Trey grin while playing with that loop pedal was a true joy to watch.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Gumbo72203

Holy shit this might be the best jamming of 3.0.  This is weird, Mexico is usually really bad haha.  This is incredible.  And Trey's tone is AWESOME.

Both Wave of Hope and Chalkdust are fucking legit.  Absolutely legit.  These jams are monsters.

Damn just listened to Axilla II from N2.  What a wild outro jam, Phish unhinged!
Actually watched the CDT in its entirety last night.  Glad to see and hear them pushing the limits still.  Listening to Birds as I type,  :o
