just popped on set 1 to get prepared if anyone wants to join in...
https://phish.in/1989-05-01
I'm excited to watch tonight.
i love page's organ and electric piano tone from the late 80 and early 90's. takes me back to some of those early crisp soundboard recordings I would listen to over and over and over in my early phish days.
I actually just finished listening to the first set. I didn't investigate further because I'm going the "no spoiler" route for tonight, but all I have is the first set. I know the video for Set II never circulated, but did an audio source ever become available?

phish.net has a pretty detailed setlist for set 2, so i assume there are tapes out there
Rocking the first set now. Pumped for this one! :beers:

Jared Slomoff. He has worked for Mike and page for years. Before that he worked for Col. Bruce. He edited the 20th anniversary video. There's a snippet from this show in that. Super interest guy, actually.
Sound is great!
this is pretty hilarious footage

Works for the band, he synched the audio for this video and has worked on a bunch of the albums including a lot of the solo stuff for Mike and Page.
He's a buddy of T's too.
That was awesome, Mikes tramp segment!

welp, after that insanity, there's absolutely no reason why they can't do a single camera from the soundboard for a DAAM. let's get some fall 95 or 97 soon!

Looking back at our LSTs and Post-Shows, everyone used the ####/##/## date type until around 2014. That's when ####-##-## started getting used.

To make it even more f'd up, at work when I hand date things I use ".". As in "7.8.20". Well, back when I worked, that is.
Standard yyyy-mm-dd etree taper format!
All those other ways are wrong, because I want my folders and files to be in order.

Correct! It's all about alphanumeric sorting. Plus / is not a valid character in a filename.
Year month day with dashes is fine
Year month day with back slashes is for psychopaths, or Europeans
this aint computer code tho.

Thanks for triggering me with that C*rveball link.
I find the image files with MM.DD.YY rather ironic. Or maybe not ironic....me fail English....whatever word fits the thingamadoo I was trying to say.
And my earlier post was total jackassery btw. As is this one.

It ain't about the month date and year, it's about the slashes bro!
Don't try and back pedal now, we're in too deep. This is ser fucking biz!
i hate slashes and dashes.
it's periods, period.
1997.8.2
for example.
i don't like 0s in there either. 1997.08.02 is wasting perfectly good 0s i could use somewhere else in life.
also, this set was fun to watch.
it's funny to imagine anyone in '89 watching this band and thinking, 'soon to be one of the biggest touring acts ever.'

Dashes and YYYY-MM-DD no other way, otherwise all my folders get all fucked up and out of order. And even though I do use a computer, I feel that the year first just makes more sense for archival and organization purposes.
I actually hate spaces in folder/filenames, but that's just a Linux thing. Blank space is a bitch.

This right here.
I will also sometimes accept and use 9/14/99 (or 9/14/1999) in some contexts but I generally try not to use m/d/yr.
